Beyond the Gates Spoilers, January 13th: Anita discovers Vernon has been lying and Ashley and her colleague get close

What to Expect on Beyond the Gates

In Tuesday’s episode, Anita (Tamara Tunie) returns home from chemo and learns that Vernon (Clifton Davis) has been lying to her. This will go over like a bag of rocks, and Vernon better have a good explanation. The last time Vernon was lying to Anita was when she was in Chicago with The Articulettes, and Vernon was helping Martin (Brandon Claybon) deal with Kenneth (Jason Vendryes), in Martin’s nightmare story arc.

Spiralling alone

In Tuesday's episode, The Duprees rally around one of their own while Nicole (Daphnée Duplaix) spirals. Dani has tested positive for the BRCA gene, and Dani (Karla Mosley) is very fragile at the moment, whilst trying to put on a strong front. While the family rallies around her, the other Dupree sister spirals further. Will Carlton (Robert Christopher Riley) be able to pull Nicole out of her funk?

Hawthorne Family Dynamics

In Tuesday’s epiosde, Jacob (Jibre Hordges) and Elon (Malachi Malik) have a heart-to-heart. The topic at some point will turn to the complicated relationship Elon has with Izaiah (David Lami Friebe), but hopefully, the conversation can be about Naomi and Jacob's marriage. Jacob needs some fatherly advice on how to deal with Naomi (Arielle Prepetit), and he can’t ask anyone else as all they will tell him is the standard line, which is: This is what it is to date a duoree woman yada yada yada, and that you just have to grin and bear it. Elon has the fortune of NOT dating a Dupree woman and can just give Jacob some honest advice.

Ashley Moves On

In Tuesday's episode, we see Ashley (Jen Jacob) move on visually when she goes on a date with a co-worker. Newcomer to Beyond The Gates, Jordi Vilasusu plays Grayson Perez, and he and Ashley hit it off, and there are going to be fireworks going on for sure. It’s going to be Friday before we see Derek's (Ben Gavin) reaction to this, though.
