Kerry was in L.A. this weekend at the iconic Beverly Wilshire Hotel, the setting for the inaugural Military and Veterans Entertainment Awards (MVE Awards). The first and most prestigious honorarium recognizes the outstanding contributions of veterans and military personnel in entertainment and media. Hosted by the National Entertainment Awards Academy for Military and Veterans (NEAAMV), this event celebrates the unique intersection of service and artistry and honors individuals whose work inspires patriotism, resilience, and unity.

Kerry shared the event on his Instagram page, captioning, “Still can’t believe I was on the red carpet AND got to present an award at the MVE Awards… what an HONOR. Grateful ain’t even a big enough word. From the battlefield to the big screen — I carry every moment, every brother and sister I served with, every sacrifice, with me.”

Kerry expressed gratitude specifically as well, adding, “Thank you, Joe Ramirez, for the opportunity and for everything you do for us vets in this industry. You’re a real one.”

An ex-Marine for the United States military, Kerry often shares his pride of fellow service members. He concluded his post by stating, “Happy Memorial Day. Today ain’t just about BBQs. It’s about remembering the fallen, honoring the brave, and showing love to those who still carry the weight of service. To all my fellow warriors — past and present — I see you. I salute you.”

On Beyond the Gates, Kerry’s character, Randy, has his work cut out for him. On one hand, he’s the right-hand man of shady casino owner Joey Armstrong (Jon Lindstrom), who needs Randy to keep Doug at the tables, gambling and losing money. On the other hand, Doug is his day one buddy, and that means he’s got to at least try to keep Doug out of trouble. But that’s not an easy task at all for Randy. No amount of pep talks, visits, or hard words has been able to keep Doug from throwing his life like he throws the dice. Poorly. Recently, Randy confronted Doug at the casino, and we thought he’d gotten through to him, but no sooner had Randy’s back been turned, he was sneaking back in to the high roller tables and throwing wads of cash down. What's it going to take to stop Doug? If you ask me, it’s going to be either Randy or another of Joey's men giving Doug a beatdown. If it’s inevitable, maybe it should come from a friend? Maybe Kerry could put his stunt training and real-life action experiences to good use in his current role.
