What to Expect on Beyond the Gates
The Articulettes reunion concert went off with a roar of approval from seated family and friends. The 3 ‘sisters’ left it all on stage, and there was not a hint of any of the past hurt. Anita (Tamara Tunie), Sharon (Bonita Brisker), and Tracy (Maria Howell) sang their hearts out, and Anita performed a beautiful solo; there was not a scent of drama throughout. Even when Leslie (Trisha Mann-Grant) showed up unannounced and unwanted, she sat there. She applauded and sang and grooved between her daughter Eva (Ambyr Michelle) and Carlton (Robert Christopher Riley). In Monday's episode, Anita surprises her fans with a major revelation! Will she be returning to her musical career?
Someone call the UN for a binding resolution
The tension between Martin (Brandon Claybon) and Smitty (Mike Manning) was palpable, and it was more than awkward for the two of them to be in the same place at the same time for the reunion concert. One would hope that after the conversation that Smitty had with Naomi (Arielle Prepetit) regarding how she would keep the family secrets from her husband, Jacob (Jibre Hordges), to protect the ones she loves, because that's what you do, that Smitty would finally understand that Martin had the best of intentions. In Monday's episode, Samantha (Najah Jackson) tries to broker peace between Martin and Smitty.
Nicole is on the warpath again

Nicole (Daphnée Duplaix) feels aggrieved everywhere she turns, and now that she’s announced to Bill Hamilton (Timon Kyle Durett) that she is the fixer, she intends to act the part. Nicole couldn't believe that Leslie dared to turn up to the reunion concert, being an open event and all, and available to the public. How dare she acquire a ticket and put a few coppers in the purse of the Duprees? In Monday's episode, Nicole lays into Leslie for crashing the concert. Is Leslie well within her rights to attend the concert? No drama went down, and she behaved. None of that matters to Nicole, but is laying into Leslie the best idea? This may only invite more trouble. Nicole should concentrate on the male attention she is getting from Carlton instead.
