Last we saw of Vanessa (Lauren Buglioli), she was high-tailing it out of Joey’s (Jon Lindstrom) casino after slapping him. Why? Because Joey finally told Vanessa what his real deal with her and her husband, Doug (Jason Graham), was, and Vanessa was horrified that the debt owed by her husband was a quarter of a million dollars. Vanessa is a wise woman, and playing by Joey’s rules for now might be her only option. In Monday's episode, Vanessa plays a high-stakes game with Joey.

We left Friday and suffered the weekend, knowing that Derek had popped the question to Ashley at Uptown. In Monday's episode, Ashley and Derek's relationship status changes.But in which direction? Will Ashley accept Derek's proposal, or will she change her heart? They love each other very much, as we see them say, but will this be wedding bells playing for Fairmont Crest?

Nothing stays hidden for long

This is especially true for Beyond the Gates, Things thought long hidden and buried are on the cusp of being revealed, and for once, they don't involve Dani Dupree (Karla Mosley). Kenny (Jason Vendryes), wanting to apply pressure to Martin (Brandon Claybon), said a line that Martin only knows from his nightmares, and suddenly things are getting very real for him; some questions will be asked for sure. Smitty (Mike Manning) is heading into an investigative piece with the lid on a can of worms in a precarious position. In Monday's episode, Martin’s past comes rushing back. Somewhere, there lies a connection between Kenny and Martin's “incident” and why Bill (Timon Kyle Durett) thinks it’s important that Martin remembers they are on the same team.

Andre is everywhere

Andre (Sean Freeman) seems to be “Johnny on the spot” these days. He’s a part of Ashley and Derek's story, he’s a secret or not-so-secret now lover of Dani, and he’s involved with Ted and Nicole and the family drama there, too. In Monday's episode, he gets involved in yet another storyline as Naomi (Arielle Prepetit) confides in Andre. What could she possibly have to confide in anyone about? Stay tuned as another week is nearly upon us and our favorite denizens of Fairmont Crest.
