What to expect on Beyond the Gates

With things heating up in Fairmont Crest and old secrets about to be brought to life, measures must be taken to protect the Dupree name. As Vernon (Clifton Davis) said in yesterday's episode, the Duprees circle the wagons at the slightest hint of trouble to protect the family. In Friday's episode, Vernon takes matters into his own hands. Will he reach out to Bill (Timon Kyle Durett) again, as he was there the last time? Or has that ship sailed, and Vernon must try another route to protect Martin (Brandon Claybon)? One thing is for sure: whoever the settlement money was paid to, is back, and threads are being pulled on by Smitty. Nothing truly stays buried forever.

Side hustles and side pieces

So it turns out all Joey needed to do was just ask Vanessa (Lauren Buglioli), and she would have been keen to use her realty business to launder money for Joey Armstrong (Jon Lindstrom) What Doug (Jason Graham) thinks of this is kind of irrelevant at this stage but he has to be grateful hius debt at the casino is forgiven. One less weight upon his mind, what will Doug do, without a need to gamble to pay a debt? Vanessa is more than busy without him. In Fridays episode, Vanessa leans into her new partnership with Joey. Vanessa likes the risk and reward of this new venture and being quite taken with Joey makes it even easier, but where will this leave Doug, and how will he react to these new changes?

Ted (Keith D. Robinson) made another attempt to get through to his wife that he still loves her and wants her in his life, sending flowers and a card. This attempt just happened to come on the back of another kind of betrayal, Dani (Karla Mosley) telling Nicole (Daphnée Duplaix) about her relationship with Andre (Sean Freeman). So while the card was nice, it may not have been received as well as it might have been if given better timing. Nicole is going to be in Ted's office talking about something she just needs to do, and Ted is going to sigh and shrug and say, “Let's get it done.” In Friday's episode, Nicole has life-changing news for Ted. Could this really be the end of their marriage? Stay tuned as we head into another big Friday on Beyond the Gates.
