Turner & Hooch reboot to star Y&R's Lyndsy Fonseca

Disney+'s reboot of the classic 1989 buddy cop comedy Turner & Hooch will star Lyndsy Fonseca (ex-Colleen Carlton, The Young and the Restless) in a headlining role. The actress has also signed on for a season-long arc playing Liv Tyler's sister on 9-1-1 Lone Star.

Move over, Tom Hanks! Disney+ is gearing up for its remake of the 1989 film Turner & Hooch, and the powers that be have plucked Lyndsy Fonseca (ex-Colleen Carlton, The Young and the Restless) for a leading role.

The actress will be joining Carra Patterson and Josh Peck in the series that centers on Scott Turner (Peck), an ambitious, buttoned-up U.S. marshal who inherits a big, unruly dog.

According to Deadline, Fonseca will play Laura, Scott's sister and the mother of seven-year-old Matthew. Like the rest of her family, Laura is still coming to terms with the death of their father. A dog lover who currently owns special-needs dogs, Laura brings Scott their father's legacy: a huge, slobbery dog named Hooch. Laura is close to both her brother and mother -- with whom she discovers that her father's death might not have been an accident.

Turner & Hooch isn't the only project keeping Fonseca busy at the moment. She has also been tapped for a season-long arc on Fox's 9-1-1: Lone Star, playing Liv Tyler's sister. She will be filming that and Turner & Hooch concurrently.

Lyndsy Fonseca began her career as Y&R's Colleen, which she played from 2001 to 2005 before going on to find success in shows like Nikita, How I Met Your Mother, Big Love, Agent Carter, and Desperate Housewives.
