On The Young and the Restless, Faith Newman (Reylynn Caster) is the daughter of Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Sharon Collins Rosales (Sharon Case). Currently, Faith is in the hospital after a car accident, and she and her parents are anxiously awaiting word from the doctors about her condition.

Due to previous injuries, the doctors seem cautious about releasing Faith from the hospital. Still, there may be a more serious situation brewing. Faith’s previous accident nearly took her life. However, the most grievous issue didn't come until after she had come home from the hospital.

Fears of history repeating itself—and the possibility of what seems fine on the surface actually not being fine—have had some fans worried that Faith was leaving Genoa City for good.

When Faith was a newborn, she was kidnapped by her uncle Adam, who let Sharon believe that Faith had died. Later as a teen, Faith discovered the sordid story of how she spent her first months when the story was published on the Internet. Cyberbullies who had read the article tortured Faith about her family scandal.

Embarrassed, Faith began drinking and trying to fit in with older kids, especially one named Jordan. After months of underage drinking, rebelling against her parents, worrying about her mom’s cancer diagnosis, and stressing about the cyberbullying, Faith hit her breaking point when she discovered that Jordan had catfished her.

Faith grabbed a bottle of tequila and hit the road. She then got in a truck accident that nearly cost her her life. Sharon and Nick relived the trauma of losing their first daughter Cassie when they found themselves at Faith’s hospital bedside, praying that their daughter would survive.

After Faith was released from the hospital, she had unknown complications stemming from the crash. Faith collapsed, and it was discovered that her kidneys were failing and that she needed a kidney transplant. Adam turned out to be the only match for her rare blood type, and he was the successful donor.

Recently, Lucy Romalotti, the young teenage daughter of Heather and Daniel, had taken a liking to Faith. Wanting to appear “cool,” Lucy drank around Faith and then asked Faith to cover for her. After Faith tried to distance herself, Lucy stole some alcohol from a bar and drank alone in the park. She called Faith for help and asked for a ride home.

Faith was unimpressed at Lucy’s actions but agreed to drive her home. On the way, Lucy began to throw up, so Faith reached into the backseat for a towel. She took her eyes off the road momentarily and lost control of the car, crashing into a wall. Both girls wound up in the hospital, and once again, Faith’s parents were at her bedside in the hospital, reliving the same nightmare yet again.

Faith doesn’t have obvious injuries like broken bones, but for some reason, the doctors have kept her in the hospital and have been running tests on her. Neither Faith nor her parents seem to know what the doctors are concerned about, but the longer she is in, the more everyone fears the worst.

The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS.
