Not many people get the last word in with Phyllis Summers on The Young and the Restless. However, actor Vincent Stalba did just that when his character, Carter, Aristotle Dumas's assistant, blocked the fiery redhead from talking to his boss.

Vincent Stalba is a newcomer to daytime. According to the actor's IMDB page, he is known for "his disturbing on-screen presence working in both feature films and television." Stalba's credits include roles in House of Ashes, The Dark Room, and The Cybernaturals.

Born in Vero Beach, Florida, Stalba became fascinated with acting after his elementary school class attended a production of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde at a local high school.

Stalba, as Carter, could end up working with some of Y&R's heavy hitters in the business world. Away from daytime, he's shared screen time with greats including Paul Giamatti, Tom Hiddleston, and Dean Norris.

Should Carter be invited to some fancy galas on Y&R, he may fit right in as his portrayer is a Certified Sommelier with the Court of Master Sommeliers.

Stalba's only made one appearance as of now. However, we do know a bit about Carter. He might be single, given the absence of a wedding band on his left hand. Carter appears efficient and loyal. He certainly knows how to get rid of people who call out of the blue like Phyllis.

We imagine someone as powerful as Aristotle Dumas gets lots of calls from people wanting an audience with him, so it only made sense he'd employ someone who can get the job done. It is very likely that when Carter dismissed Phyllis it wasn't the first time he had to deal with someone persistent.

What could happen

Should Phyllis circle back with another call, or if she were to attempt to make an in-person connection, we suspect that Carter will continue to act as a barrier. Stalba's presence as Carter has heightened our curiosity about his mysterious employer. Just who is Aristotle Dumas?
