The Young and the Restless: the Secrets behind Cait Fairbanks engagement

The Young and the Restless star Cait Fairbanks is engaged to be married to musician Jay Rudolph. Soap Central was among the first to report the news once the couple had announced it on social media. Now, there are specifics about the engagement coming out, and Soap Central has the details!

PEOPLE magazine reported how Fairbanks learned that Rudolph wanted to make their relationship legal. In a statement, the actress who plays Mariah shared that Rudolph proposed to her while they were vacationing in Japan, as they were staying at a "beautiful ryokan in Shizuoka."

“We were on a walk by the river with all these beautiful autumnal leaves,” Fairbanks said. ”I was turned the other way, and he said ‘Hey,’ so I turned around [saw the ring] and said ‘Oh my God, shut up,’ and then ‘Well of course yes!’ ”

Fairbanks says that the moment was both expected and unexpected. “I was very surprised, but we’ve known we wanted to share our lives together for a while now, and I feel so lucky to get to do it with him," the actress shared.

Tessa's love life

Tessa's love life is a bit more complicated these days. Separated from her wife, Mariah (Camryn Grimes), because Mariah can't seem to live with nearly taking a stranger's life, Tessa has found comfort in the arms of Daniel (Michael Graziadei).

Daniel's been at a crossroads ever since the murder of his beloved Heather (Vail Bloom). He sought out Tessa to learn how to play the guitar in an effort to focus on something other than his grief.

Tessa agreed to teach Daniel, and she began to lean on him when she began to have problems with Mariah. It took what seemed like a very, very long time for Mariah to even come clean as to what had occurred. Rather than reunite after that confession, there only seemed to be more distance between Mariah and Tessa.

Currently, Mariah is supposedly getting help at a clinic in Boston. She had an epiphany of sorts after conjuring up Ian Ward (Ray Wise) as some kind of figment of her imagination. Despite this, Mariah has only wanted to keep Tessa away.
