The Young and the Restless spoilers, May 16: Nick Newman finds himself in a familiar place

What happens on The Young and the Restless

Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) has a long history with a lot of people. On Friday's episode, he's going to find himself in a place he's been in the past. Could this familiar territory involve his personal life? Nick's got two former wives on the canvas in Sharon (Sharon Case) and Phyllis (Michelle Stafford). We could see him reuniting with either woman. Nick often plays the hero, and it's hard to say which woman needs him more right now.

Or maybe it's Nick's son, Christian, who needs his dad's support. The little boy is often missing from the show's story canvas. Morrow shines in stories that involve Nick's children.

Dial "R" for revenge

Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) knows better than anyone what can happen if a person leads with her heart instead of her head. Back in Los Angeles, Sally made some questionable choices to hang onto a man she cared about. As a result, she left L.A. and started a new life in Genoa City. She cares deeply about Billy (Jason Thompson) and doesn't want him to make similar mistakes.

Does Billy have a justified reason for wanting revenge against Victor? Of course! But that's not going to stop Sally on Friday's show from worrying about Billy. Knowing Sally, she'll try to reason with Billy so that he keeps his focus on his new venture, Abbott Communications, and not attacking his enemies.

Court is in session

Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan), after too long an absence, is making her way back to town. The character is poised to make an impact both professionally and personally. As an attorney who represents power players, Amanda can be inserted into many of the business and power stories that Y&R has playing.

But let's not forget the impact Amanda could have on Devon (Bryton James). The two were just getting started with their romance when he fell for Abby (Melissa Ordway), who is now his wife. Devon and Abby haven't even been married a year yet, but could Amanda catch Devon's eye, and might there be trouble in paradise? Stay tuned!
