The Young and the Restless star Michelle Stafford, who plays Phyllis Summers, dropped by SOAPY, the podcast talk show about soaps that's hosted by Greg Rikaart of Days of our Lives, and Rebecca Budig of The Bold and the Beautiful. The actress dished about, among other things, her friendship with General Hospital star Finola Hughes.

Stafford chatted with Rikaart (Leo, DAYS) and Budig (Taylor, B&B) about her web series The Stafford Project, in which she played a fictionalized version of herself. Might the show ever be revived? Rikaart pointed out there's quite a bit of time in between the Lisa Kudrow series about a sitcom star, Valerie Cherish, that she plays on The Comeback.

"The only reason we haven't [done it again] is because we're all busy," Stafford explained. Rikaart pointed out that there's no time limit on revisiting a show, given the length of time in between seasons for The Comeback. "We could," muses Stafford. "We talk about it all the time."

Budig brought up the time Stafford left Y&R in 1997 and took on the part of Joanna Hadley on the short-lived Aaron Spelling series, Pacific Palisades. Finola Hughes (Anna, GH) also starred on the show as Kate Russo.

Budig misspoke when she asked if the series went for 13 seasons (or years). In reality, the program only went for 13 episodes (1 season), and Stafford recalls only six of those episodes ever aired.

"My favorite story in the world, and I've told it, [is that] after the fifth episode, [Fox] replaced us with a show called When Good Animals Go Bad," Stafford recalled with a smile. (Note: the actual title was When Good Pets Go Bad.)

The actress recalls that the clip pet show got a slightly higher rating than Spelling's latest foray into the soap world received.

"I remember telling Finola, 'We're done,'" Stafford shared, "And she was like, 'Oh no, no, we've, we've already shot [more episodes].'" The actress, who did a British accent when recounting Hughes's reaction, quipped, "She would hate me right now."

While Pacific Palisades didn't have the staying power of Dynasty, Dallas, Knots Landing, or Falcon Crest, the show did result in Hughes and Stafford forging a great friendship.

"I had met her through Ian [Buchanan, ex-Duke, GH] first," Stafford explains.

The actress says it was a positive experience working for Spelling, calling the TV producer, "eccentric and amazing and a genius and awesome." She adds that "It's a cool thing to say that he picked you to be in one of his shows, it's very cool."
