The Young and the Restless stars Alyvia Alyn Lind and Mckenna Grace share more than the role of Faith Newman

The Young and the Restless character Faith Newman has been played by a handful of actresses since her 2009 debut. While Alyvia Alyn Lind, who is currently starring in the Netflix series Wayward, played the part for about a decade, her tenure in the role wasn't consecutive. Mckenna Grace (The Hunger Games: Sunrise) would fill in for Lind when she wasn't available. Despite passing like ships in the night in Genoa City, these two actresses know each other well.

Hollywood friendship

While talking to the Hollywood Reporter about her role in the Netflix series Wayward, Lind was asked about Grace, who appeared in the movie Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire alongside Lind's real-life sister, Emily Lind (who played young Emily/Amanda in Revenge).

Lind says that she was excited when she heard her sister had gotten the role in the Ghostbusters flick because she already knew Grace. She wasn't aware how much they'd interact on-screen, but she was excited to learn that they'd co-star alongside each other throughout the entire movie.

"I've known Mckenna since I was four or five," Lind shared of her former The Young and the Restless castmate. "We've both been in the industry that long together." The two youngsters wouldn't be at Y&R at the same time, as when one was playing the other role, the other didn't need to be there and was probably busy shooting something anyway!

However, they did get to hang out at the Ghostbusters premiere. She enjoyed seeing her sister and her pal get to play together on-screen. Lind wishes, however, that she'd auditioned for the part her sister ended up getting.

Together again for the first time

"I want to work with Mckenna," Lind said. "I love her so much. That would have been so much fun." Still, she thinks that her sister was the right person for the role given Emily's "ghostly energy." Casting, she says, was "right on point."

Faith's older sister, Cassie (Camryn Grimes, now Mariah), predicted on her deathbed that Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Sharon Case (Sharon), her parents, would have another baby. That prophecy came true when Sharon later gave birth to Faith.

The character's current portrayer, Reylynn Caster, took on the role of Faith in 2021. In 2023, Cameron Kirsten (Linden Ashby) kidnapped Faith and strapped a bomb to her. Fortunately, Sharon came to her daughter's rescue.
