The Young and the Restless stars Roger Howarth and Matt Cohen share a sudsy past 

The Young and the Restless viewers today learned that Det. Burrow isn't as friendly with Mitch Bacall (AKA Matt Clark) as Mitch might think they are. Burrow informed Nick that he was working undercover to try to get the goods on Mitch/Matt.

While there may be more to this than meets the eye, one thing is for sure -- Roger Howarth, who plays Matt, and Cohen, who plays Burrow, are pals from their time together on another soap opera!

"Roger and I, we got to cross paths at General Hospital," Cohen told Soap Opera Digest, referring to the show in which they played, respectively, Franco (later, Austin) and Griffin.

Cohen says that the two men forged a connection. In fact, Cohen recalled Howarth reaching out to him after he left Port Charles. "He was just a kind guy," Cohen said of Howarth.

The two reconnected when they joined Y&R as part of the storyline, which has reintroduced Noah (Lucas Adams) and introduced Sienna (Tamara Braun; ex-Carly/ex-Kim, GH) to the canvas. "I’m on my first day on set, and I’m walking through the hallways, and I find him," Cohen says of Howarth.

Knowing that he had a friend in Genoa City made Cohen very happy. "Lo and behold, here we are," a happy Cohen said.

It appeared that Matt had some kind of hold on Det. Burrow, but a recent conversation between the lawman and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) is shedding new light on that dynamic.

Surf's Up

Cohen isn't just reconnecting with actors he knew on GH. It turns out that there's a Y&R actor that he worked with a long time ago on a movie. Michael Graziadei (Daniel) and Cohen worked together on the set of Boogeyman 2. Cohen says that he and Graziadei used to surf together and that they even produced a movie as a team.

That film was the 2009 movie, The Outside, which tells the story of an aspiring professional surfer, Ned Blakely (played by Graziadei). Alas, Ned's life gets turned upside, while he's pursuing his surfing dream, and he hits rock bottom. Cohen also appears in the film as Travis.
