Nick returned to The Shadow Room and searched for Mitch and Sienna. However, he promptly located Detective Burrow, and Nick was confused about why they were meeting at the club instead of at the police department. Burrow explained that it was the best place to meet because he had someone he needed to introduce. A woman approached the table and expressed how nice it was to meet Nick, finally.

The woman joked about Nick's good looks, but he wasn't enthused. Nick demanded to know who she was, and Burrow told him that her name was "Annie." Burrow insisted that Nick take a seat so that everything could be explained. Nick wanted the outside of the table so that he wouldn't be trapped. Burrow revealed that he and Annie were partners, working on an undercover operation against the Bacalls. Burrow thought Mitch was behind it all, and Nick wasn't surprised by the news.

Burrow had been pretending to be a dirty cop on Mitch's payroll, and Nick questioned whether Noah was considered a suspect in the fentanyl trade. Burrow thought that was the reason for Noah's crash and his being targeted. The idea was that he somehow knew too much about the operation, and someone tried to silence him. Nick wanted answers on the steps being taken to identify who was involved in Noah's accident. They didn't think anyone had hit Noah's car directly, and Nick grew increasingly impatient.

Nick exposed the truth about Mitch being Matt Clark and how he had a longstanding vendetta against himself and his family. Nick told them about Noah checking himself out of the hospital against medical advice and asked if they already knew. However, Annie denied any knowledge, and Burrow evaded the question entirely. Regardless, Nick was certain that Matt was keeping Noah captive somewhere. They were surprised that Matt knew Nick in high school, and their bad blood dated back so long. He discussed everything, including Sharon's rape at Matt's hand.

Nick discussed Matt's previous drug dealing, and he believed that it could tie into their fentanyl case. He couldn't believe how Matt pulled off faking his own death, and the police couldn't believe he returned to haunt them again. Nick said if Matt did anything to Noah, he would kill him, which left the detectives unsettled. He said the story either ends with Matt's death or a lifelong prison sentence. Nick wasn't concerned about the drug bust; his only focus was on saving Noah's life.

Nick told the police about Noah and Sienna's affair, and they told Nick that Noah wasn't the only missing person; Sienna was also unaccounted for. Nick was fed up. He told Burrow to shake the truth out of Matt so they could find out where Noah was. Nick said the stakes were too high because Matt had a laundry list of reasons to target Noah. Burrow said he'd try to contact Matt, but he couldn't promise anything.

Sienna tried to wake Noah, who was unconscious. After rubbing his body for a few minutes, she finally got him to regain consciousness. Both Noah and Sienna had massive headaches, and they assumed they had been drugged with something. Noah wondered how long they'd been held captive, but she had no idea what time or even what day it was. They weren't surprised that whoever held them prisoner would let them have access to the outside world.

Noah asked where they were located and if they had ties to The Shadow Room. However, Sienna insisted that she had never been there before. Despite Sienna vowing that there weren't any escape paths out of the room they were in, he wanted to check for himself. He refused to sit idly and potentially die in the room. Noah tried to open the door, and when it didn't work, he got a "told ya so" from Sienna. He pounded on the door, but she stopped him once his condition worsened.

Sienna asked why Noah was out of the hospital, and she cited his current position on the floor as proof he shouldn't have left. She berated him for not taking it easy after the near-death experience he had. Noah remembered being at The Shadow Room before ending up in the supply closet. He explained how he confronted him about the Matt allegations, but instead, Mitch flipped the script about their affair. She refused to let him assume all of the blame for the fallout of their affair coming to light.

Noah believed that Mitch would murder him if he had the chance. Sienna didn't think he was capable of killing. Although their marriage had been in a bad place for quite a while, he never showed a violent streak. Noah brought up his parents' findings, and he thought Mitch/Matt could easily kill them. She admitted she found an old photo of Mitch, which confirmed Nick's claims that he was the dangerous Matt Clark.

Sharon was awoken by the sound of a fire alarm in her hotel room. She tried to make a quick exit, but Matt was located directly outside her door. Matt entered the room and threw Sharon onto the couch. He asked her to stop screaming, so she wouldn't draw attention to herself. Sharon insisted she wasn't afraid of him, but Matt told her to stop talking, warning that if she didn't follow his direct orders, Noah was in grave danger. Sharon begged to know where Noah was.

Matt wanted to know when Nick would be back, and Sharon said his entire charade would crash down. She threatened to kill him if anything happened to Noah, but he didn't want to fall back down that rabbit hole. Matt insisted that he needed to have an important conversation with both Nick and Sharon. He ordered her to sit down and shut up, but she told him nothing scared her anymore. The fire alarm was finally silenced, and Sharon started to ask for answers about why Matt targeted their family.

Matt insisted that if Nick went to the police, there would be extreme negative consequences for Noah's life. She wanted confirmation that Noah wasn't harmed, but Matt assured her that he wasn't dead yet. Matt discussed the affair, and he didn't think he or Allie deserved to be treated poorly by Noah or Sienna. He believed Noah was a good person when they first met, but now he thinks he's an entitled individual. Sharon promised that she didn't know about their affair, but she wanted to know what happened to Noah.

Matt said he wasn't the person who ran Noah off the road, and he demanded she summon Nick to the hotel room because they were running out of time. He placed Sharon's phone in her hand and made it clear he wasn't asking; she needed to call Nick. She left a cryptic voicemail for Nick about Matt, asking if he was happy about it, but he asked her to stop calling him Matt. Sharon asked whether he was too ashamed of his past to admit who he once was.

Sharon started to hit Matt where it would hurt him the most, taunting him about how Sienna deserved better than him. She told Matt, "I know that no one could really love a man like you. And Sienna, she probably saw Noah as a way out of a sham marriage because that's the only kind of relationship that any woman could have with you." Matt inched closer to Sharon and asked whether she thought it was a good idea to provoke him at that exact moment.

Sharon told him she wasn't the same woman she was decades ago when he tormented her. She offered herself up in place of Noah. He wouldn't let up, and he said she needed to get in touch with Nick so they could begin the game of saving Noah.
