Y&R fave Michael Damian (Danny Romalotti) is headed back to Genoa City to help the top-rated CBS soap celebrate a milestone.
"Yahoo! I'm back playing Danny on Y&R for the 10,000 episode and lots more," Damian revealed on Twitter. "Thank you so much for your amazing support!"
It's taken nearly 40 years for The Young and the Restless to hit its milestone. The show aired its first episode on March 26, 1973.
Damian, meanwhile, made his Y&R debut in 1980. He remained with the show for 18 years before exiting to pursue other opportunities, but has returned from time to time as storyline has permitted. His most recent appearance wrapped up in June.
Since his exit from full-time Y&R work, Damian has focused on his music and burgeoning directing careers. His most recent directing project, the film Flicka: Country Pride, is currently available on DVD.
The 10,000th episode airs in late September.
