Soap vet Mark Pinter begins taping today at The Young and the Restless. Pinter will play the newly created role of Marcus Wheeler, a character who will have dealings with at least two of the show's top characters.
According to TVGuide's Michael Logan, Pinter will play "a powerful and sophisticated congressman involved with Victor and Jack, who will go to any lengths to protect his image and career."
Additionally, a casting call for the role described Marcus as "skilled and full of himself."
Pinter is best known as Another World's Grant Harrison, a role he played for most of the 1990s. Pinter also had memorable stops as Roger Smythe on All My Children, As the World Turns's Brian McColl, two roles on Guiding Light, and General Hospital's Thomas Rayner.
Pinter begins taping December 6, and will first air on January 10. The role is short-term, at least for now, and will run through the February Sweeps period.
