Wedding bells will soon be ringing, and transgender actress Candis Cayne is heading to The Young and the Restless' Genoa City in the role of a wedding planner.
The Bold and the Beautiful has recently been at the forefront of daytime shows giving transgender actors and characters a chance to shine, and it looks like its sister soap, The Young and the Restless, is hopping aboard, as well.
According to People.com, daytime's number one soap has recruited transgender actress Candis Cayne to make an appearance in Genoa City as wedding planner Nona Richards on Wednesday, December 2.
"I am incredibly excited to join The Young and the Restless family," the actress exclaims. "Everyone, from the casting team to the producers and network executives, have been so welcoming and gracious. I look forward to working with the wonderful cast and crew, and I hope the viewers enjoy my character."

The Hawaii native may already be known to some soap viewers, as she's Caitlyn Jenner's reality show gal pal and costarred with soap stars like Daniel Cosgrove (Aiden Jennings, Days of our Lives) and Natalie Zea (ex-Gwen Winthrop, Passions) on Dirty Sexy Money.

This isn't the first time Y&R has featured a real-life celebrity as a wedding planner for storyline purposes. Last year, celebrity wedding planner David Tutera guest-starred to help plan Neil (Kristoff St. John) and Leslie's nuptials.
