Viewers of The Young and the Restless have been on the edge of their seats, wondering if Amanda (Mishael Morgan) will decide to help her grandfather, Sutton Ames, out of legal trouble. The decision won't be an easy one -- he's basically responsible for her having been given up by her mother, Naya (Ptosha Storey) -- but it seems Amanda will at least consider defending Sutton, because the CBS soap opera is bringing the character to the canvas.
According to Daytime Confidential, actor Jack Landron will be stepping into the role of Amanda's grandfather on Monday, April 5.
Storey opened up about the drama to come when Sutton hits the canvas, and she teased that the family patriarch might refuse Amanda's help if she does decide to give it.
"[Naya asking for Amanda's help] is a big ask. It's a beautiful thing for Amanda to have to explore," the actress shared. "She's been looking for her family and she has an opportunity to impact it in a big way. Her attitude to her grandfather could be, 'You forced my mother to give me up? Why should I fight for you?' He might not even want her help! We all have to live with our choices."
A native of Puerto Rico who moved to Boston in his youth, Landron was a successful folk singer and a personal assistant to Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. before he moved to New York City to pursue an acting career. Some of his credits include Jane the Virgin, Shameless, Grey's Anatomy, and I'm Dying Up Here.
