The Young and the Restless is finally returning to its glory days, with last week's episodes behind some of the best in recent memory. Despite the reliance on the AI program, there have been many solid, soapy moments from it. Victor has been in a position where everyone was against him before, but this time, it feels like he may be losing his grip on the residents of Genoa City, his family included.
At every turn, someone is threatening to walk away from Victor's grasp or is contemplating the idea of turning their backs on him. It's not an enviable situation to be in, and although Victor is one of the strongest men on any of the shows, everyone eventually reaches their breaking point. To understand the potential downfall facing the business titan, it's essential to look at all angles and identify exactly who is against him and what their motivations are.
5 former allies on the bad side of the mustache
1) Nikki

The most obvious choice is also the most painful. Nikki drew a line in the sand against her husband and gave him the biggest ultimatum of their marriage: he either drops his crusade against Jack and the Abbott Family, or she was prepared to walk away from him. Victor ordered her to walk out of their home if that is how she truly felt. Nikki's closeness to Jack has been a source of contention for many years, but it's reached a fever pitch lately. Their connection is the sole driving force of his entire renewed vendetta against the face of Jabot Cosmetics.
2) Claire and Summer

Claire and Summer might not have gotten along when the latter was in Genoa City, but they do have one thing in common: neither wants to see any harm come to Kyle or his family. Claire recently confronted Victor about his grudge against Jack, citing how much she cares for their family and how well they've always treated her. Summer, on the other hand, runs Marchetti, which is owned by Jabot. Victor's determination to bring the company to its knees directly affects her, and she's likely furious with her grandfather's actions, which threaten her livelihood.
3) Phyllis

Victor completely double-crossed Phyllis, even though if it weren't for her, he'd still be combing through his mind trying to find a way to ruin Jack. By stealing the AI program from Cane, she handed him the keys to the kingdom, and all she wanted in return was for him to transfer Jabot to her. Instead, Victor ran a damaging hit piece against the company, using Newma Media as the driving force. The article has seriously damaged the public's perception of Jabot, and the damage has been so severe that it may never fully recover. She is furious and, because of his betrayal, is in talks with the Abbotts to join their side and hand over the powerful software.
4) Michael

Michael desperately wishes to be in the good graces of Victor, but nothing is ever enough. It's never enough for Michael to support Victor or help him "one last time." No matter how many times Michael comes through for Victor, there's always something else that he needs from him. Michael almost lost his wife because of his association with Victor, and he is trying to do the right thing by helping his close friend, Diane, save her family's company from the brink of collapse. He tried to speak to Victor about his plans for the AI software, but he was met with a "none of your business" remark and promptly hung up. Michael is done, and it's about time.
5) Adam and Chelsea

Adam has forged a decent relationship with Victor after years of estrangement and tension. However, since reuniting with Chelsea, she has opened his eyes to his father's ruthlessness and to the possibility that they should no longer turn a blind eye to it. Their Newman Media article caused considerable damage to Jabot. Because of their actions, people could stand to lose their jobs, directly in the middle of the holiday season. Chelsea has already taken a stand, and if Adam wants to stay in a good place in his romantic life, he will come to his senses and push back against Victor's crusade to hurt Jack.
