Welcome to The Young and the Restless Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:

What Happened on The Young and the Restless

On The Young and the Restless today, sparks were flying all over Genoa City. At the Abbott mansion, Diane was just what Jack needed when he walked in the door; at Society, the chemistry between Holden and Claire was on fire; and Daniel’s face lit up when Tessa walked in the door. But on Cane’s train, chemistry showed up a little bit differently when Phyllis tried hard to be Cane’s friend. Knowing that Lily had thrown him under the bus, then got behind the steering wheel with her kids on board, Phyllis went over to cheer up Cane. She even had advice to offer as someone who knows all too well when it’s like when you’re a parent and your kids won’t speak to you. She spoke for most of us when she said the kids would get over feeling burned that their dad is a billionaire, but it was when she admitted that she was trying to be his friend that the awkwardness kicked in. Phyllis’ pat on Cane’s shoulder and the look of horror on his face was hilarious. The two barely have a professional relationship, let alone a friendship, but wethinks in the end, this pairing could be better than any reunion with Lily that Cane could ever dream of.
