The Young and the Restless Daily YAPP recap, December 8: Cane finally puts Phyllis on notice

Welcome to The Young and the Restless Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick -- and by that, I mean you're already halfway done -- recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today's episode. Let's get to it:

What happened on The Young and the Restless

We expected Cane (Billy Flynn) and Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) to take their relationship to the next level after he returned to Genoa City. Phyllis saw an opportunity to create an alliance with Cane, as he had pretty much alienated everyone in town outside of Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan), and she's on his payroll! Cane wasn't making much (if any) progress with Lily (Christel Khalil), so he was single and available. Even though Phyllis looks out for No. 1, we have to admit it was a bit of a surprise when she swiped Cane's AI (Artificial Intelligence) program and delivered it to Victor (Eric Braeden). How could Phyllis have been surprised when the mogul used AI to go after Cane and his company? We're not surprised that Phyllis continues to deny, deny, and deny that she stole the program. Cane embarked on a physical relationship with Phyllis, hoping that she would come clean about her thievery. She didn't. And Cane continued the relationship -- until today on The Young and the Restless. He put Phyllis on notice. Naturally, she fought back, refusing to let him see her sweat. If and when Cane and Phyllis become intimate again, there will be some serious "hate sex" involved. There's no way that their relationship can endure because there's no trust between them. We're not sure what Cane is regretting more right now -- developing the AI program that backfired on him, or trusting Phyllis, who betrayed him. It's about time that Cane put Phyllis on notice.
