The Young and the Restless Daily YAPP recap, January 6: Nick and Noah Newman, like father, like son

Welcome to The Young and the Restless Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick -- and by that, I mean you're already halfway done -- recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today's episode. Let's get to it:

What happened on The Young and the Restless

The Young and the Restless sent a reminder over the last few days that people don't always see in themselves what they see in others, especially when it comes to their children. We saw Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) admonish his son, Noah (Lucas Adams), from running off to confront Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) because the man was just too dangerous. Matt had made it clear he was out for the Newmans, and Nick had to step up and get stern with his adult son, telling him that he was playing with fire if he went after Matt alone. Well, in light of recent events, namely, Nick putting himself in danger when Matt got the better of him in the car, Noah is going to get to say, "I told you so," for the rest of his life. We're not saying Noah will do that in any kind of negative way. However, the next time Noah wants to do something his dad doesn't want him to do, he could gently point out his dad's mistake to him. Then again, Nick would just use that as an example of why Noah shouldn't run off without assistance. We're just grateful that Matt stumbled away after the car crash that injured Nick. We weren't up for seeing Matt holding Nick hostage in a secret location where he would have verbally blasted him -- or worse -- for several episodes.
