Welcome to The Young and the Restless Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick -- and by that, I mean you're already halfway done -- recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today's episode. Let's get to it:
What happened on The Young and the Restless

We finally saw a side of Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) that we can more fully embrace. Ever since his debut last summer, he's been promising that "all will be revealed soon." Well, it's been a few months now, and we think we finally heard today what part of Cane's true master plan has been. Maybe he doesn't want to use AI software to take over Newman Enterprises, Jabot Cosmetics, Chancellor Industries, Cassidy First, Crimson Lights, and some other businesses on The Young and the Restless. (Okay, he probably never wanted to take over the coffee shop.) Cane is capable of doing all this if he uses Artificial Intelligence software that can end up having Victor and Jack report to him, as he would own their companies. But would that rewin the hearts of his ex-wife Lily (Christel Khalil) or their children Mattie and Charlie (last played by Lexie Stevenson and Noah Alexander Gerry)? Probably not. Cane's no dummy, so why doesn't he realize this? Well, it turns out that he just might. He told Jack that one of his goals was to try to reunite Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and his estranged mother, Jill Foster Abbott (Jess Walton), whom Cane sees as a surrogate mother. Cane's been moving a lot of chess pieces around and, as Soap Central recently theorized, perhaps his goals are a bit more altruistic than people have been giving him credit for. If Cane reunites Billy and Jill, then it's just possible Lily will see the man she once fell in love with.
