Phyllis (Michelle Stafford), a previous Soap Central Performer of the Week, spied Lily at the bar at the Genoa City Athletic Club and decided to confront her. If she was expecting Lily to take her remarks lying down, the feisty redhead was in for a surprise!

The encounter between the two women started off cordial enough as Lily and Phyllis bonded over their kids. Phyllis hastened to bring Cane (Billy Flynn) into the conversation since he wants to have a better relationship with his and Lily's children. "Maybe you can mind your own business?" Lily shot back after Phyllis suggested Lily and Cane find common ground over Charlie (Noah Alexander Gerry) and Mattie (Lexie Stevenson).

Phyllis went on to accuse Lily of dangling a carrot in front of Cane and pulling the rug out from under him, vowing she wouldn't let her get away with it. And the match was on! Two strong women met each other with fierce determination. Phyllis was set on helping Cane see his kids. Lily was not going to let Phyllis (of all people!) involve herself in her personal business.

"You have no idea about our relationship, and just so you know, I didn't start this game, okay?" Lily fired back. "Cane did, by lying to me and the kids for years."

Lily may not be the first name people think of when it comes to the power players of Genoa City, but she should be. She's a strong, focused businesswoman who knows that the best defense can be a strong offense. Lily not only didn't take Phyllis's attacks, but she went on one herself.

"It makes sense that you would want to preserve this 'Dumas' persona with Cane because it benefits you," Lily told Phyllis, referring to the enigmatic alter-ego Cane used while he was amassing his fortune. She went on to say that Phyllis would like Cane to turn to the dark side and take over the world. "The good part of Cane would want nothing to do with someone like you, but you and Dumas are a match made in hell," Lily added.

Accused of hating Cane, Lily shrugged to Phyllis that she didn't. "I actually pity him, especially now," said Lily, as she gestured towards Phyllis, waving her hand up and down.

Lesser actresses would have played these scenes with hysterics, but both Khalil and Stafford kept their performances strong and focused without going over the top.

Cane arrived on the scene before security was summoned. "Enough," he shouted as the two women escalated their discussion. Lily said that she'd had enough of explaining herself; however, we can never get enough of seeing Lily and Khalil on our screens. Brava to the actress for her powerful performance!
