At Crimson Lights, Chelsea and Adam discuss Connor’s ongoing OCD. Chelsea said he was doing great. Adam changed the subject by telling her about Victor's visit and how he wanted to make someone’s life a living hell.

Chelsea said she wouldn’t object if Victor uses Newman Media to go after Cane. Then, she realized someone could get caught in the crossfire. Adam said it was Billy who could be in trouble, as he is aligning himself with Cane. Billy might be turning against his own family in addition to going after Victor.

Chelsea was convinced Billy had no idea that Dumas was Cane. Adam said this isn’t a war that Billy could win. Chelsea pointed out that Billy often bluffs. Adam let Chelsea know that Billy has changed the game. He’s put a target on his back by allying himself with Cane.

Chelsea said she couldn’t argue Victor wanting to defend his company. She did say she’d need to see proof that Billy was working with Cane before she signed off on attacking Billy. Chelsea recalled Connor turning down a party invite because of his OCD. That turned into kids thinking Connor thought he was too cool to go. Adam said that this was different, as Connor was a kid. Chelsea wondered if Victor lied about Cane and Billy working together. Adam said he had to trust his father’s instincts, which include a preemptive strike. Chelsea agreed, but believed she could get Billy to be honest with her.

Chelsea said Billy would have to be desperate to ally himself with Cane. She believed she’d be the right person to go to Billy. Adam was perturbed about Billy. He said he’s not the one seeing Billy for who he is. Adam suggested that Billy was worse than Cane, as Billy was out for blood.

Adam stated that there comes a time when you have to pick a side. He pointed out that Billy had chosen a side, and it was time for Chelsea to do the same. Adam urged her to choose her family.

In his suite, Cane took a call from Victor. He recapped that Victor’s last call summoned him to the ranch. Victor didn’t care that Cane said he didn’t plan on going out that night and that he had to come to the ranch.

Phyllis wondered who had called Cane, demanding an audience. Billy commented that Phyllis could be relentless. She said she’d put her energy into their next movie. Billy quipped to Phyllis that curiosity killed the cat. Phyllis mused that she had already used up her 9 lives and that she had very sharp nails. Cane and Phyllis clinked glasses to their future.

Phyllis reminded Cane that he refused to see her in Washington, D.C. Cane explained how one can come out ahead in a deal. He said he was drawn to Phyllis’s assets. Cane mused that maybe he wanted to see how determined Phyllis could be. They continued to verbally play cat and mouse. Phyllis said nobody plays her and gets away with it.

Phyllis let Cane know she didn’t like being used as a pawn. She maintained she was true to herself. Phyllis wondered what Cane was up to. Hadn’t she passed his test? Cane said that didn’t mean he wasn’t going to stop challenging her every step of the way.

Cane said Billy will have his test to pass. Phyllis and Billy asked each other if they were conning the other. Phyllis noted that “con” is also the first three letters of “confidence.” She asked which poor unfortunate soul they were going after first.

Cane told Phyllis she had to learn the rules first. Phyllis pointed out she’d like to break them after she learns them. She said she preferred “real talk” to corporate speak. Cane asked Phyllis to use her computer skills, wondering if she could hack into computer systems for Jabot, Chancellor, Newman, and Winters. “We’re going to do a little shopping,” Cane said as to what they’ll do once they get into their systems.

Phyllis wanted to know what was on Cane’s shopping list. Cane said her questions would have to wait as he had a meeting with Victor. She asked what it was about. Cane couldn’t tell her because he didn’t know what it was about. Cane said Victor had underestimated him.

Billy joined Jack at the bar at Society. Jack brought up Cane buying him out at Abbott Communications. Jack reminded Billy that it was his idea for Jack to sell his share of Abbott Communications to Cane. Billy wondered if Jack sounded hurt.

Billy said he’d talked to Cane, but their conversation got derailed because of Jill. Jack was surprised that Jill knew Cane was Dumas. Jack was aware of how deeply Billy was hurt by Jill. Billy said that Jill had been to the chateau to see Colin. Billy noted that he was hurt by Jill selling Chancellor Industries to Victor and by siding with Cane. Billy felt that Jill had a son in Cane and that she didn’t care about him anymore.

Jack said to Billy that Jill loved him. He suggested he give her a chance, adding he knew something about repairing a mother/son bond. Jack speculated that Billy believed Cane had cast a big shadow. Jack told Billy he was sorry, as he could tell this was tearing him up. Billy said he’d get Chancellor Industries back. Jack asked if Billy knew Cane’s plan. Billy said he did know and that things in Genoa City were going to get ugly.

Jack said Cane was delusional if he thought he was going to get Chancellor Industries, Jabot Cosmetics, Newman Enterprises, and Winters. Billy said Cane was crazy like a fox. Billy said Cane’s plan had nothing to do with money. Jack commented on Cane’s ego and said they’d have to derail his plan. Billy pointed out that Cane was committed. He added that Phyllis was cheering him on. Jack said Cane amassed a fortune in the amount of time it would take someone else much longer to do.

Jack wondered why Cane didn’t think that Billy would share the information he learned from him. Billy said if his talk with Jill hadn’t gone so poorly, he might have kept Jack in the dark. Jack asked if Billy would sell out Jabot and the Abbotts to get Chancellor Industries.

Jack pressed Billy for more details. Billy said the answer would always be no if Cane asked him to go against his family. Jack advised Billy to get on the inside with Cane so they can protect Jabot. Jack said he’d remain a principal investor in Abbott Communications while Billy gets in good with Cane. Jack said he can see why Billy felt hurt by Jill. Jack told his younger brother he shouldn’t be in business with Victor. Jack suggested bringing Cane down from the inside.

Then, Phyllis appeared. Billy shared that he was telling Jack about his fallout with Jill. Jack left, telling them to enjoy their evening. Phyllis got the feeling that Billy was selling Cane out. Billy denied it. Phyllis told Billy he had commitment and mommy issues. Phyllis lied to Billy that she was acting on Cane’s behalf as she told him his offer to work with Billy was off the table.

Billy agreed with Phyllis that Cane doesn’t need a weak link but disagreed on who that link is. He told Phyllis that letting her go from Abbott Communications was the right decision. Billy said he saved Phyllis’s life. Phyllis countered that Nick saved her life. Billy said Cane would have to tell Billy himself if he wanted him out. Then, he walked out, leaving Phyllis at the bar alone.

At the ranch, Cane commented on Victor’s rebuilt house. Victor asked Cane if he thought about what they discussed in France related to Cane helping Victor get Jabot. Cane admitted he was less than upfront about who he was in France.

Victor said Cane lied. He let Cane know that he bought real estate in Genoa City. Next, Cane let Victor know that Nikki came close to giving Chancellor Industries to him in exchange for Nick’s freedom. Victor suggested Cane move his focus from Chancellor Industries to Jabot Cosmetics and that he’d back Cane on that. “Together, we could crush the Abbotts,” Victor said. “Do we have a deal?”
