What happened on The Young and the Restless

Lily and Devon met at Crimson Lights, and he made fun of her for living like a grandmother. He was surprised to learn that she planned on attending the Abbott Communications launch party. Devon joked about his sister checking in on her "old pal," Billy, but she disclosed that attending would support Sally. Lily was pleased that he finally surrendered some semblance of control and allowed Sally to steer the ship. She asked if Devon would be in attendance, but he wasn't interested.
Lily joked that the night would be hours that she couldn't get back, so Devon gave her a slight possibility that he and Abby would pop in. Whether or not her brother showed up, she was determined to put on a trio outfit and enjoy herself. However, Cane walked into the coffee shop, and instantly flattened her mood. He asked whether they were finished for the day, and he picked up on the disagreement between the siblings. The snark continued, and Devon remarked that it was nice to see Cane remember anything about being involved in his children's lives.
Lily didn't want to deal with Cane. She was confused how he could be friendly after their previous fiery encounter. He joined her at her table, and she asked if Phyllis was following closely behind. Lily felt like Cane rolled around in the gutter by dealing with Phyllis, and she claimed she could be more rude if needed. She fessed up about attending the launch party, and Cane offered to go with her. Cane confessed that he wasn't invited, but since he owned the venue, nobody could prevent him from showing up.
Lily told Cane that Billy didn't want him there. Regardless, Cane claimed he wanted Billy's new company to succeed. He tried to show her he was less of a jerk than before, and he promised to change. Cane told her that he had no existing ties to Phyllis, so that wouldn't be a problem anymore. She wondered if that was a permanent solution, but once he confirmed that she had stolen his software, he was finished with her.
Cane pleaded with Lily to let him go to the party with her. He wanted her to let him, so she could walk away from the evening proud that it happened. Cane believed that they could have fun together at the event, but Lily wasn't as confident. They hadn't had fun together in several years, so she didn't believe it was possible.
She only wanted to attend the party for the optics. Cane wanted her to be less serious and get back to having more fun. Ultimately, she agreed to let him come to the party with her. She rolled her eyes after realizing that people would wonder why they would arrive together. Still, she was open to a fun night.
Audra appeared concerned about Noah's safety and was glad to see he was still in one piece. Nick assured her that Noah had a large support system to look after him. Noah asked how Audra had been, and she was fine. He asked how long he was in town. She hoped they'd run into each other again while he was in Genoa City. Nick noticed that Noah was shaken up after seeing his former flame. He regretted that Noah never had a solid example of a stable relationship while growing up.
Nick tried to pry about the state of Noah and Allie, but when he shut him down, he asked for clarification on his relationship with Sienna. Noah rebuked the notion that Sienna knew who Matt was when they got involved. Noah didn't think anyone's intentions mattered, and the only thing they needed to focus on was protecting everyone from Matt. Nick told him that Sienna was a grown woman and made choices that got her into her current situation. However, Noah told his father that nothing would make him back off.
While alone, Sharon was surprised that Sienna was nervous, but she explained that it was Victor. Sharon admitted that Victor's demeanor was a bit unnerving, but if there was nothing to hide, she shouldn't have a problem. Sharon promised she didn't plan to tear into Sienna. However, she had questions about how she couldn't determine that something was off about Matt. Sienna knew there was something dark that lurked beneath the surface, but she couldn't pinpoint it. She just learned to deal with it.
Sharon realized that Sienna needed someone to lean on, which paved the way for the affair with Noah. Sienna thought Sharon had the wrong idea, so she assured her that she didn't use Noah to drown her marital sorrows. Sharon explained that Noah was a kind soul, a trait he learned from his father. With that capacity for kindness came a white night complex, another thing that he got from Nick. Sienna vowed that if she knew that Matt was dangerous, she never would've put Noah in harm's way.
Sienna knew that Noah was still recovering from the accident, and she needed him to take it easy. Sharon promised that Victor and Nick had a plan in place to stop Matt from attacking their family. Sienna wasn't so certain. She knew that Matt played by his own rules, so it might not be easy. Sharon knew that Matt wouldn't give up without a fight, and his dedication to revenge assured that he would reemerge in Genoa City.
Sharon thought that Matt always planned to come after her family. She didn't know whether Noah was specifically targeted or whether it happened by chance. Sharon discussed Allie, and Sienna reminded her that Noah and his girlfriend weren't in a good place, and her not coming to Los Angeles to see him proved their relationship was dead. Sharon flat-out asked if Sienna was in love with Noah, and she confirmed that she was. The assertion that whatever occurred between Noah and Sienna was love led Sharon to tell her, "The idea of a woman like you being in love with my son bothers me a great deal."
Sharon could see by the way that Noah looked at Sienna that he was head over heels in love. Sienna found it bizarre that Noah's family was more focused on his love life than the fact that someone tried to kill him. Noah's attachment to Sienna made Sharon uneasy. Matt was dangerous, and the ongoing connection put him on the warpath of a killer. Sienna recognized it was her fault, but even Sharon didn't think so. She knew that, in some capacity, Matt had always planned to hurt the family, and that Noah was the easiest way to do so.
Noah stood in Matt's way of getting revenge, so he would undoubtedly take him out. Someone knocked on the door, which startled Sienna, but it was Claire. She hoped to speak to Sienna, so Sharon cleared the room to give them some privacy. Sienna knew why Claire came to her: for information on Holden, but not just him; she wanted dirt on Audra as well. Sienna asked her to sit down, and Claire recounted the entire story, but Sienna tried to say that's how it went down, but Claire called her bluff.
Sienna didn't want a crime in her club made public, but Claire begged her to come clean about what happened. She didn't know why Claire cared so much, but the endless secrets left Claire craving the truth. Sienna warned her that it might be better to remain in the dark. Claire needed the truth, though. She didn't want to be blindsided by Audra in the future, so she needed to know everything to take her down.
Sienna brought up Kyle and Holden, but Claire brought the conversation back to the original place. Sienna confirmed everything that Claire already knew, and even though she suspected more, she couldn't give it to her. Noah and Nick returned to Sharon's, and Claire left, but not before agreeing to continue the conversation with Sienna at a later date.
At the GCAC, Holden approached Audra, and she wasn't interested in dealing with him. Audra asked him why he allowed Claire to crush her windpipe, and he snarked at the hyperbole. Holden said he wanted Audra to succeed and for her to cut her losses, staying clear of the launch party. The only reason she wasn't attending was to keep the focus solely on Sally.
Audra was finished with Holden dictating what she should or shouldn't do. He questioned why she had such disdain for Claire. Audra felt as if Claire had everything handed to her on a silver platter, and she was sick of her. Holden didn’t think it was worth Audra's time to exert all of her energy on Claire. Neither woman was willing to leave town, so Holden wanted them to coexist. Audra vowed to take Claire down. Holden hinted that there was far more to the story about their past, but he didn't think she would take him down with her.
