On the July 18 episode of The Young and the Restless, Cane showed Chance his secret video room, Nick exploded with anger, and Kyle and Audra found comfort in each other's arms.
What happened on The Young and the Restless

Cane showed Chance his secret room with his camera monitors. The billionaire assured the detective that he wasn’t spying on his guests in their bedrooms. Cane and Chance observed video of Cane and Damian in the maze of shrubbery. Just before Damian took the knife to his back, the video ended.
Chance wanted to know who else had access to the equipment in the video room. Chance said Carter and Amanda have access. Cane told Chance he wouldn't kill Damian. Why would he? Cane maintained that he was the intended target. He wanted to get to the bottom of this more than anyone since his freedom and his life depended on it.
A shirtless and towel-clad Kyle answered his cabin door to a frantic Audra. She informed him that Damian was dead! Audra was upset that Amy was going to have to deal with the news that Damian was gone. She felt that having Damian back in her life helped Amy regain her health. Kyle encouraged Audra to just let it out. Audra said maybe it was for the best that she couldn’t call home. For now, Nate and Amy didn’t know the news. Kyle put a supportive hand on Audra’s arm.
Kyle handed Audra a bottle of sparkling water. She put it down without opening it. Kyle said it seemed surreal that Damian was dead. Audra said Lily was freaking out. She added that Lily believed Cane killed Damian.
Kyle thought it was a stretch to go from being jealous to committing murder. He pointed out that Cane had spent the last several years amassing his new fortune. Why would he do that just to kill Damian over Lily? Kyle asked if Lily had proof and wondered if the police were coming. Audra said she wasn’t sure how the authorities could be contacted given the lack of communication and cell phone service. Audra threw out that it was a bad idea to come to Cane’s chateau. Kyle mused that this was all a ruse of Cane’s. Audra didn’t think Damian was going to pop out of the bushes and yell surprise.
Audra marveled that Cane could have gone from okaying their perfume battle to committing murder. Then, Audra heard a noise. Kyle told her it was going to be okay. Audra said she felt safe with Kyle. He told her she didn’t have to leave. Audra leaned in and kissed Kyle. He responded by kissing her back.
Jack and Diane joined Billy for breakfast. He let them know that Damian had been stabbed to death last night. Diane, aghast, wanted to know who would do something like that. Billy agreed with Jack’s observation that what happened to Kane was awful. Jack and Diane learned that there’s a way down the hill now. Diane pointed out that Cane having invited Chance didn’t make sense, but now, it’s convenient as Chance needs a detective. Diane added that Michael’s a lawyer. Maybe Cane wanted an attorney on hand? She said that there’s no better explanation right now. Diane said that they’re all trapped like bugs in a jar. She's worried as the killer is still on the loose.
Diane pointed out that Sally, who was off swimming, shouldn’t be alone, and that no one should be by themselves. Billy changed the subject. Jack wondered if Billy thought Cane killed Damian because he was jealous. Diane said that was a big leap. Billy said the murder would put a stop to their business deals. Jack called his brother out on being so cold. Billy said it was just a theory about Cane killing Damian over Lily.
Jack told Billy to go and live his life and try to get Chancellor Industries back if that's what he wanted to do. Billy said maybe Jack would be proud of him. Diane noted that if Cane planned all this, he sure invited a lot of people to be there to witness it. Billy said that people forget what other people are capable of doing. Cane entered and claimed to Billy that he was innocent. Cane revealed to Jack, Billy, and Diane that he believed someone wanted to murder him. Billy wondered why he was out in the open. Cane said the killer wouldn’t try again, but Billy said that the murderer might if they wanted Cane dead.
Billy asked Cane how his talk with Victor went about Cane’s desire to get control of Chancellor Industries. Cane said Victor turned him down. He added that Nick made it clear he’d go to any lengths to protect Nikki and Chancellor. Jack didn’t believe Nick, his former stepson, would kill someone. Billy disagreed. He noted that Nick was a hothead and was capable of murder. Cane said that Nick would do anything to protect his family, and his family would do anything to protect Nick.
Nick, Sharon, and Phyllis brought each other up to speed on the latest in the main train cabin. Phyllis said Nick doesn’t know that Cane was the one who planted the evidence in Nick’s room. Nick didn’t care what Phyllis thought. Phyllis kept defending Cane. Sharon noted that Cane can’t control Chance’s investigation. Nick passionately asserted that Cane was running the show.
Nick said this entire trip has been one big manipulation. He recounted Cane buying up half of Genoa City, and that there was no in and out unless Cane said so. Now, there has been a murder. Phyllis shrugged that she knew all this. She felt there was a logical explanation.
Sharon took Nick’s side. She noted that this whole trip has been a big puzzle. Sharon asked Phyllis what she saw in Cane that no one else did. Phyllis countered that Cane didn’t hide anything, and that they all turned on him after everyone found out who he was. Phyllis said Cane’s heart has been broken by Lily. She maintained she didn’t feel sympathy for Cane. Nick said to Phyllis that her daughter’s (Summer) father could go to jail because of Cane.
Phyllis maintained that she didn’t want Nick to go to prison and that Cane did not frame Nick. He suggested that Cane had someone on his staff do it. Phyllis still declared that Cane was innocent. Nick persisted. Phyllis told Nick to take his rage away from her and try to find the real killer. Nick told her that she had appeared to have chosen a side and that she had sold her soul for this job with Cane.
Phyllis urged Sharon to throw in her two cents now that Nick has shared his thoughts. Sharon said Nick didn’t mean what he said. Phyllis said he did. Sharon said she wasn’t thinking the same thing that Nick was because of their newfound relationship. Phyllis wondered how long that was going to last.
Sharon pointed out that if Cane had gone to Genoa City, he could be lying about other matters. Sharon pointed out that by Phyllis’s admission, she didn’t show up until after Damian had the knife in his back. Phyllis said she surmised that Cane was innocent based on the look on his face when he was holding Damian’s dead body. Sharon speculated that Cane could be faking it. Phyllis said, as she and Sharon know, that level of fear can’t be faked.
Sharon asked Phyllis not to say anything mean. Sharon asked who would try to pin the crime on Nick. Who’d be capable of doing something like that? Phyllis mused that Billy might frame Victor, but not Nick. Sharon said the Winters family was innocent. Phyllis said Michael and Lauren were innocent, as were Audra and Sally -- as much as Phyllis doesn't like Sally.
Nick ran into Chance in the maze of shrubbery. Nick suggested that Kane hadn’t called for the authorities at all. Victor’s son continued to shout over the inconsistencies and madness related to everything that was going on. Chance said he was a solo act without resources. Nick said he wasn’t going to sit around and do nothing. He’d walk down the side of the mountain if he had to. Then, Jack, Billy, Diane, and Cane came upon Nick and Chance.
Cane wasn’t sure what was taking the cops so long to arrive. An exasperated Nick said he was sick of everything. He was going to blow this thing wide open before somebody got hurt or worse!
