On the Friday, June 13, 2025 episode of The Young and the Restless, Daniel reunited with Chris and Danny, Phyllis asked Tessa for a favor, and Lily shared her theory on Dumas’s identity.
What happened on The Young and the Restless

Phyllis overheard Tessa on the phone in Chancellor Park. The singer was leaving a message for Mariah. Tessa acknowledged that Mariah wanted some time alone, but she said the distance between them was killing her. Tessa promised to listen to whatever Mariah wanted to talk about. She asked for Mariah to call her. “I love you,” Tessa said as she ended the call.
Then, Phyllis appeared. She asked Tessa if she was okay and if she needed a friend. “Phyllis, you’re not trying to be my friend,” a guarded Tessa responded. Tessa told Phyllis that if she still wanted him to spy on Daniel, the answer was no. Phyllis countered that she never asked for that. She admitted that Daniel needed to recharge. Tessa gently suggested that Daniel was trying to get his mother to back off. Phyllis believed that Daniel was in a lot of pain.
Phyllis let Tessa know that she was going on a business trip, but she wouldn’t go if Tessa thought Daniel truly needed her. Tessa said Daniel appeared to be getting stronger every day, which Phyllis was encouraged to hear. The redhead complimented Tessa on Daniel’s progress. “I don’t hand out credit that easily,” Phyllis half-joked. She believed Tessa had been a positive influence on her son.
Phyllis asked Tessa to keep an eye on Daniel. Tessa agreed to be Daniel’s friend, but there were not going to be any reports or spying. Phyllis asked Tessa if she had snagged an invitation to Dumas’s party. Tessa reminded Daniel’s mom that she was not a part of the Genoa City business elite. Tessa revealed that Sharon was going with Nick to the event. Phyllis acted like that bothered her.
At Society, Amy shared with Damian her concern about Aristotle’s party in France. Damian confessed that despite working for Aristotle for years, he wouldn’t know him if they came face-to-face. Amy marveled that her rebellious teenage son now knows a big tycoon like Dumas.
Damian enthused he’d be working with good people now at Winters. Amy noted that it wasn’t just good people – it was family. Damian admitted he was angry at first over how he came to Genoa City, but said there was nothing to be angry about now. Amy agreed they were both in a better place. She wondered if Damian could ever forgive her for keeping secret that Nathan Hastings Sr. was his dad.
Damian said that his dad, Jackson, used to say that forgiveness would set a person free. He added that he still gets hurt and angry, but he hoped that his mother had all the time in the world. He was grateful to have her back in his life again. Amy got emotional. She wondered if it was wise for Damian to go to Dumas’s party after he fired him. Damian revealed he was curious.
Amy couldn’t figure out why Dumas was asking for an in-person meeting now. Damian said it’s possible he could help figure out what he’s up to as he’s the only person who has worked for Dumas. Amy said even if the meeting with Dumas didn’t go well, her son could still enjoy the French Riviera.
Devon quipped that Lily was bringing a lot of luggage to France. Abby thought it was curious that Dumas would invite Damian even though he fired him. Lily was anxious about the big reveal. Lily conceded that Amanda was telling the truth. Devon wondered how Dumas already knew about the Winters family. Abby agreed there was a missing piece. Nate said that Dumas wanted to meet all the players, but he wondered what his true motivation was.
Lily was surprised to learn from Nate that Audra had been invited to Dumas’s party. Devon was curious about Audra managing to get face time with Dumas when so many others have been unable to do so. Lily theorized that Dumas is Tucker McCall. Devon said he thought that too, but pointed out that the timing didn’t match. Abby suggested that this was something Tucker would do – getting Devon to meet him. Nate said that Dumas should not be underestimated. Lily added that there’s another person who shouldn’t be underestimated – Victor Newman!
Lily and Abby sparred over Victor. Abby defended her dad. Lily said the end doesn’t justify the means, referring to Lily being back at Winters. Lily said she just thinks everyone should have their eyes open. Devon suggested that they focus on Dumas and not Victor. Lily suggested that Dumas could enlist them as allies against Victor. Nate asked if that were to happen, who would Lily choose? Abby asked if Lily would choose Dumas over her dad.
Nate suggested everyone embrace the mystery. He said there’s nothing that anyone can do that will stop what’s coming. Damian and Amy returned to Nate’s apartment and bid everyone farewell as they left for France. Damian told his mom that he’d be back before her next treatment. Nate told Damian he’d keep an eye on Amy. The door had barely closed, and Amy told Nate she missed Damian already. She said it was hard to get used to him having grown into his adult years without her. Amy said she missed the young boy she used to walk to the bus stop. Nate said some moments were lost, but they would live in her heart forever. Nate understood that Amy would be feeling emotional about Damian’s trip.
Daniel strummed his guitar for a bit at Crimson Lights. After he put his instrument away, he was thrilled to discover Danny and Christine in the coffee shop. Daniel jokingly asked if he had to be put on a VIP list to find out that his favorite rock star was in town.
Daniel told Danny and Chris that they picked the perfect time to visit since he had no job. Daniel asked his son how he was doing. Daniel revealed he was trying to adjust to his new normal. Danny said he was there to help his son in any way he could. Daniel shared that he was already getting help, but corrected Chris that it wasn’t professional. He added that she introduced him to a process that would get him out of his head. Daniel didn’t want to share too many details until he got better.
Danny said that Daniel was stuck with him for a while on the subject of how long he’d be in town. Daniel said he was looking forward to some good meals. Danny quipped that Daniel wanted his secret sauce recipe. Daniel said he’d never end his quest to learn the mystery ingredient. Then, Phyllis and Tessa entered. The redhead called Christine "Cricket" and made quips about her touring with Danny's band to try to get under her skin. Taking Danny's arm, Christine fired back that she had all she needed.
Daniel revealed that Tessa was helping him learn to play the guitar. Danny asked Tessa if his son was a chip off the old block. Danny said he’d like to hear some of Daniel’s playing. Phyllis wanted that, too. Daniel said it would be quite some time before that happened. Tessa said Daniel should decide when he’s ready. Phyllis announced she was leaving for the airport, but wanted a word with Daniel first.
Danny asked Phyllis about his ordeal with Sharon. Phyllis confessed that she thought at one point Christine was behind it because it was so vile, but she added that the legal eagle wasn’t clever enough to have pulled something like that off.
Phyllis mentioned Daniel’s guitar lessons in front of Danny and Christine. She encouraged her son to play something for his dad. Phyllis said she was slightly conflicted about going to meet Dumas. “It’s Danny and the Bug,” Phyllis lamented. She didn’t want them influencing Daniel. Phyllis feared they were going to run her down when she wasn’t around.
Daniel reminded his mother that it wasn’t a contest and he loved both his parents. He added that he loved Phyllis a little bit more. Daniel wished his mother good luck and to keep him posted. Phyllis quipped that she might be too busy taking over the world to make phone calls.
On her way out, Phyllis suggested to Danny and Christine that they shouldn’t get too comfortable because she would be back. Christine wondered why a man like Aristotle Dumas would want to meet with Phyllis. Daniel hoped that the trip would benefit his mother.
