Sharon received a knock at her hotel room, and luckily for her, it was Nick, and not the dangerous Matt Clark. He surprised her with a delicious scone, and they played over Matt's resurfacing. Sharon didn't know how he was alive, and that, combined with her ongoing worry for Noah and Mariah, made her feel stretched thin. She told Nick she still hadn't heard from Mariah, which kept her on the fence about which child to be with. Nick assured her that Mariah would understand, given the circumstances.

Neither Nick nor Sharon got sleep after discovering Matt was still alive. Nick determined that Matt was undoubtedly involved in the car accident that nearly cost Noah his life. Too many little things added up for it to be a coincidence. Sharon thought Matt knew who Noah was when they met in London, so everything after that was a premeditated attack. Nick wanted to reach out to Adam and get more information on Matt Clark. Sharon was concerned about Nick's anger level, but they felt like they worked well in tandem. He was motivated to find a way to Matt Clark and came face-to-face with their past tormentor.

Sharon was pleased to see that the breathing tube was removed. Noah seemed to show some signs of improvement, which was a positive sign. She wanted to read to him again, but he started moving again. Even though Sharon wondered if it was an involuntary twitch, she urged him to keep moving. Noah's hand gripped the hospital bed, and Sharon promised him that she was there, and he softly whispered, "Mom."

The doctor explained to Sharon that the swelling had gone down, so they had begun bringing him out of his medically induced coma. Everything was returning to normal, and he was waking up. This was the best possible news for a woman who has spent the last few years in constant torture and turmoil. Noah asked Sharon what happened, and she promised she'd eventually fill him in, but she needed him to rest. Sharon told Noah how many people were pulling for him, and they exchanged words of adoration towards one another.

Nikki and Victoria arrived and were overjoyed at the news that Noah finally woke up. A family plagued with constant drama was finally getting a needed reprieve. Nikki declared it a true miracle, and Sharon gave them the full rundown of how Noah transitioned from coma to a man on the verge of recovery. Victoria wondered what the doctor said about his prognosis, and everything seemed to be pointing in the direction of a full recovery. Nikki reminded Sharon that they were all a family, and everyone loved her, and they could all leave Los Angeles more united.

Noah requested answers about what happened to him, but nobody gave him a straight answer. They just wanted him to build up his strength before he took on that kind of burden.

At the Shadow Room, Mitch brought Sienna a coffee, but she was a bit standoffish. She called him Matt, but he denied the allegations hurled at him by Nick. Mitch blamed Nick's parental grief on the confusion about his identity. Sienna didn't think any of it made sense, but Mitch preferred to speak about them. Sienna never returned home the night before. However, she claimed to have slept in the office. She maintained that it was a long night with a million fires to put out. Sienna also asserted that she was constantly on edge from dealing with Nick and Sharon.

Sienna tried to get Mitch to understand how much trouble Noah's accident could be for them. She broke it down for him about how Noah's last known whereabouts, before the accident, were at their club. Mitch didn't think it was their problem, but Sienna saw things differently. Sienna wanted everything to evaporate, and Mitch thought she'd get her wish since Noah's condition was considered dire.

Claire got breakfast with Nikki and Victoria and nursed a sizable hangover. Nikki cautioned Claire about the impact of having too much to drink and the regret that came with it. However, she did regret her splitting headache. Nikki understood Claire's desire to find herself and wondered if she had found any of the answers she sought. Her new mantra was about living in the moment, but she remains confused about her future. She realized it was time to return home. Holden showed up after her declaration, and he was disappointed at one less familiar face in his orbit.

Holden showered Claire with compliments, and she asked him to join the trio for breakfast. Nikki declined the offer and left Claire behind with Holden to visit Noah at the hospital. Holden sensed hostility from Nikki, but they quickly changed subjects. He encouraged Claire to drink some water to nurse her hangover, and she assured him she didn't regret taking their relationship to the next level.

Claire didn't regret sleeping with Holden, but she needed to return to Genoa City with her newfound perspective. It was time to return to normal and return to her job at Newman Publishing. Holden wondered where he fit into the new life she was building for herself. He promised not to push her for answers like Kyle always did.

Claire requested they stop by the Shadow Room before she headed back home. She wanted to thank Sienna for her hospitality, but Holden got the sense that there was more to her desire to visit. He wanted to wave her away from questioning Sienna, but she needed answers about his past with Audra. As much as he tried to discourage her from looking deeper into it, her mind was made up. Holden tried to say that Audra only has conflict with her because of Kyle, so if she isn't with Kyle, she shouldn't be on her radar. However, Claire claimed to be all about the present and didn’t want to worry about the future in that moment.

Holden attempted to stop Claire from going into The Shadow Room. She wanted the truth about Audra before she went home to Genoa City, but it meant a lot to him if she let it go. Claire agreed to stay out of it if it was that important to him. Sienna seemed genuinely happy to see them, but the vibe changed a great deal when Mitch greeted them as well. Mitch asked Claire about Noah's condition, but he took the platform to go on an extended rant about the accident. He spoke nonchalantly about the entire ordeal, almost laughing at the incident at times. It was casual in the most chilling way.

Sienna told Claire about Kyle's visit, but she already knew. She inquired if Claire wanted information on Audra as well, but she declined the offer. Holden called Sienna and Mitch a weird couple, and Claire picked up on their bizarre vibes relating to Noah's accident. She confessed to Holden that she can't let the Audra secret go. Something about it wasn't sitting well with her. Claire thought something terribly awful had happened for everyone to be so unusual about it.

Nick showed up at the Shadow Room, unaware of the change in Noah's condition. Claire asked why he was at the Shadow Room, and he wanted to run into Mitch. Holden told him that he was in luck, as Mitch was right inside. Nick was going to ignore Sharon's call at first so he could speak to Mitch/Matt, but she summoned him back to the hospital because of Noah's medical miracle.
