What happened on The Young and the Restless

Cole, looking much better than the last time we saw him, joined Victoria and Nick at Crimson Lights. The novelist confessed he was worried about his health, but that he was almost all better. He shared that he insisted on quarantining so he wouldn't endanger his loved ones. Vicki suggested that Cole join her and Claire at the tack house, and they could live as one big happy family.
Cole inquired if Claire was on board with him moving in with her and Vicki. She said she was. Vicki hoped that Cole would want what she wanted. Cole said he missed Victoria. They kissed. He wondered how long after he moved in it would take for the kids to move out. Cole said the next time he gets a bug, Vicki will be there right by his side. "Look at us," Cole said. "How far we've come. We finally figured it out."
Cole was concerned about how Claire was going to win over Victor. Vicki explained that Claire had a plan. Then, Nick excused himself so he could leave his sister and Cole alone. He joined Sharon at the Crimson Lights counter to ask how she was doing. Nick wanted to know how she and Phyllis got along after he left them in Chancellor Park. Sharon made a joke, but Nick wondered if she was covering up her feelings.
Sharon reminded Nick that she and Phyllis buried the hatchet during their ordeal. Nick asked if they were "besties" now. Sharon wouldn't go that far. She asked Nick if he ever wished he and Phyllis were a couple once more.
Nick insisted that he and Phyllis weren't getting back together. Sharon said she knows all about the bond Nick and Phyllis feel over Summer. Nick noted that he and Sharon share a similar bond because of their children. Sharon pointed out that Phyllis would deny being in distress and that Nick was drawn to her because of that, like a moth to a flame.
Nick and Sharon moved to a table to continue their talk. Sharon observed that Phyllis needed rescuing. She asked Nick if that was something he wanted to do. Nick said it wasn't going to happen. He suggested they change the subject. Nick told Sharon she was wrong. He wondered from where this was coming. Nick gently suggested to Sharon that she could be jealous.
Sharon couldn't think of a reason why she'd be jealous of Phyllis. Nick reminded her that they (Sharon and Nick) are better off as friends. He added that they'd been spending a lot of time together and that they could end up back together. But that's not what they want. Sharon reminded Nick that she told him in London that they're better off as friends.
Sharon said she was just concerned with Nick and Phyllis's well-being. Nick said Sharon didn't have to worry. Cole and Vicki were wrapping up their talk when Cole spied Sharon and Nick. He wondered what was going on with them. Vicki couldn't say for certain. She told Cole that Nick asked her to stay out of his romantic life. But she added that Nick could deny all he wanted, but the look in Sharon's eyes told a lot.
Nick told Sharon he enjoyed seeing Phyllis and Sharon not fight. Nick added that he didn't want it to happen. He noted that he was a better friend than a boyfriend or husband and that both women deserved the best he could offer.
Sharon wondered if it was okay if she and Nick had an occasional dinner. Nick said sure. He quipped about not knowing why there were two forks at the table. Sharon said she could help Nick out with that. "What are friends for?" she rhetorically asked.
Claire tried to get Victor in a good mood by bringing him a chocolate croissant. Victor playfully asked his granddaughter how he was supposed to stay in shape. He suggested he eat the pastry after lunch so he wouldn't spoil his appetite. The mood shifted to a serious tone after Claire said she wasn't giving up on Kyle, even though Victor wanted her to.
Victor was happy to learn from Claire that she and Kyle were not moving in together. Claire hastened to add that they weren't breaking up. Victor said he didn't want to push it. Claire pointed out that she and Kyle are in love and in time, he would prove that to Victor. The mogul stated he didn't want Claire to be hurt. She added she had more good news. Claire said it was more of a favor. As Nikki's birthday was coming up, Claire asked Victor if he'd help her plan a party.
Victor said he wouldn't be surprised if Nikki had Claire in mind to succeed her. He added that Nikki was proud of Claire. Victor asked if she wanted it to be a surprise. Claire revealed that Nikki already knew about her idea. "Cut me in," Victor said.
Holden struck up a conversation with Kyle. Then, Audra came upon them. It didn't take long for Kyle to question how long Audra and Holden had known each other. Next, Holden picked up on the banter between Audra and Kyle, and it was his turn to ask how long they'd known each other. Holden asked which of them was going to talk about the bad blood between them.
Kyle said that he and Audra have moved on from each other. "Have we?" Audra teased. Kyle apologized for referring negatively to Vibrante, Audra's new company. After Kyle exited, Audra asked Kyle what he was doing.
Audra accused Holden of knowing exactly who Kyle was. She added that Holden has an agenda. Audra accused Holden of being jealous. Holden countered if Audra wanted him to be. He said he was curious about their connection. Audra started to leave. Holden said he wanted to keep her safe after what occurred in Los Angeles.
Audra said Holden didn't have to worry about her and Kyle as they wouldn't be in conflict. "Kyle and I can be adults," Audra said. "Where is the fun in that?" Holden countered. She urged him to take the hint and go back to Los Angeles.
Holden suggested he'd been looking at this all wrong. Maybe Holden should be more concerned about Kyle if Audra's the one who hasn't moved on. She asked Holden to stay out of both her business and her life!
Claire and Kyle met at Chancellor Park for lunch. She updated her beau on Victor. Claire reminded Kyle that they had decided to play the long game. Kyle wished he shared Claire's optimism. Claire suggested that Kyle bring a nice gift for Nikki's birthday so that Victor would be pleased. Kyle said he'd have to present his head on a platter to make Victor happy. Claire was certain Kyle could win Victor over.
Kyle joked he'd have to change his last name to win Victor's approval. Kyle noted that Victor tolerated Billy being with Vicki, and Summer being with Kyle, but that didn't mean he would accept Kyle and Summer together.
Claire told Kyle that she had informed Victor that she and Kyle were not breaking up. Claire said she appreciated Kyle's patience. Kyle cautioned that giving in to Victor wasn't good for the long haul. Audra spied the couple from the park entrance as Kyle and Claire kissed.
Audra recalled a conversation with Victor. He urged her to point out what a weak and treacherous man Kyle was. Victor said the more she could prove Kyle was hurting Claire, the more money he'd give her for her own company. Audra took out her phone and sent a text. Just then, Kyle took out his phone and read a text.
Kyle said everything was fine. Claire shared that she didn't trust Audra. Kyle said that neither did he. He assured Claire he had Audra right where he wanted her. Meanwhile, Audra called Victor. She told him she wanted him to transfer money to her. Audra stated that Kyle was falling right into her trap.
