Three burning questions about Holden on The Young and the Restless

Ever since Holden Novak (Nathan Owens) first appeared on The Young and the Restless in January of 2025, he's been a man of mystery. He pretended to be his friend and boss Damian Kane when the real Damian (Jermaine Rivers) was suspicious of Nate's (Sean Dominic) motives in offering him a job at Winters, Inc. Then, we learned about Holden's past relationship with Audra (Zuleyka Silver) when they lived in Los Angeles, but we didn't get many details about it. Most recently, we learned he is Cane Ashby's (Billy Flynn) secret partner, but we don't have many details about that either. So, here are three burning questions about Holden:

What exactly happened between him and Audra on The Young and the Restless?

On Wednesday's episode of The Young and the Restless, Claire (Hayley Erin) tried to get some specifics from Holden about his past relationship with Audra when they were drinking Vesper cocktails at Society. Who walked in the door at that very moment? Audra, of course. Did she overhear Claire's question? It sure looked that way, since she came right over to them and eyed Claire with a smirk on her face.

From what little we've heard about Holden and Audra's past, it sounds like something big went down between them. When he first arrived in Genoa City, she seemed nervous whenever she ran into him. She only gave her boyfriend, Nate (Sean Dominic), minor details about her and Holden's past, saying they only went out a few times together. But when Audra spoke to her friend Sally (Courtney Hope) about Holden, she confessed that she ended things with him because he liked to live on the edge, which was intense and scary.

Does Holden have a violent side that no one but Audra has seen? Does he behave recklessly when he's confronted with stressful situations? Also, was Audra engaged in questionable activities in Los Angeles that only he knows about? Possibly illegal activities?

What are Holden and Cane plotting to do?

When Daniel (Michael Graziadei) first met Holden at Society a few weeks ago, he overheard Holden in a phone conversation with Cane. Daniel tried to get some information from him about whether his mother Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) was in over her head working for Cane, but Holden remained guarded and a little suspicious of Daniel's motives.

Cane met with Holden a couple of months ago and instructed him to become acquainted with the Genoa City residents who are working in big corporations around town. No one knows yet that Holden is Cane's secret partner. What exactly are they planning to do, and how far back does their relationship go?

Some fans speculate that Cane and Holden may actually be related to each other in some way. Maybe they are brothers? If that turns out to be the case, then how will Lily (Christel Khalil), Devon (Bryton James), and Nate react to this shocking news?

What will become of Holden's friendship with Claire if he and Cane try to take over Chancellor Industries?

For the past several months, Holden and Claire have developed a good friendship. Their bond has been good for Claire, considering the only other people she's had to confide in are her family and her boyfriend Kyle (Michael Mealor). But considering that her future with Kyle is now uncertain, it's great to see her have other forms of emotional support through her friendships with Holden and also Tessa (Cait Fairbanks).

But how will Claire feel if Holden and Cane plot to take over Chancellor Industries, where she works with her grandmother, Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott), who just gave Claire a promotion? Holden will surely destroy his friendship with Claire if he agrees to help Cane take over Chancellor. And more importantly, it looks like he's starting to develop romantic feelings for Claire, which is going to make the whole situation even messier -- especially now that her romance with Kyle is up in the air.
