Soaps like The Young and the Restless are all about conflict and the next generation. There's plenty of the former in the ongoing Abbott/Newman wars, and recently, there have been references that have us thinking the show is going to beef up its cast, potentially leading to conflict with the next generation.
The Young and the Restless, family feuds

We haven't seen much of Christian Newman (played by Alex Wilson), the biological son of Adam (Mark Grossman) and the late Sage (Kelly Sullivan). We know he went to London with Nick (Joshua Morrow), his father, when he traveled abroad earlier this year. Since then, Nick mentioned that Christian was attending basketball camp.
Christian was born in 2015, so it's perfectly believable that a 10-year-old could be away at camp, shooting hoops. But once paternity and custody are established, soap youngsters are often aged up to teenagers, ready to embark on stories of their own. Christian's been around long enough to be aged to a teen. He has a unique lineage in that he's named after his grandfather Victor (whose first real name is Christian), Adam is his biological dad, but he's being raised by Nick.
Wild about Harry

There have been references to Harrison (Redding Munsell) over in Italy as of late, and we're getting the impression that the next time we see him, he might be a little older. Harrison debuted in 2021 and was around four years old at the time. That places him around eight years old now, chronologically.
Harrison's been very busy over in Italy, picking up the language. Perhaps he's picked up a growth spurt, too? Harrison is unique in that he's got ties to not only the Abbotts, as Kyle is his dad, but Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) is his adoptive mother. (Though, isn't it about time that Tara Locke, Harrison's biological mom, played by Elizabeth Leiner, comes back to Genoa City?)
Whether Summer or Tara is his mom, Harrison is an Abbott — and Abbotts and Newmans don't get along. If the two young men were to make the Genoa City scene, they could find themselves at odds in business and perhaps over the same woman?
