The Twelfth Annual Daytime Emmy Awards

For the first time in six years, two new categories were added to the Daytime Emmy ballot. The new categories, Outstanding Young Man and Outstanding Ingénue (later renamed Outstanding Younger Actor and Actress), honored achievements in acting by performers under the age of 25.
