Proving that soaps still got it, two daytime dramas managed to land on their networks' list of the Top 10 most watched shows of October. Can you guess which two took home the honors?

Whoever says soaps are dead might not realize just how powerful they truly are. The numbers for the major networks' fall TV efforts are trickling in, and two soap operas managed to land on their perspective networks' list of the Top 10 most watched shows -- lists that include huge hits like Big Bang Theory, Chicago PD, and The Blacklist.

The first to make the cut was CBS's The Young and the Restless, which managed to pull in 6.34% of the network's total audience. The nine other shows on the list include The Late Show with Stephen Colbert (34.19%), The Big Bang Theory (17.93%), Survivor (7.56%), Limitless (7.23%), NCIS (6.57%), Criminal Minds (5.27%), Supergirl (5.03%), The Good Wife (4.93%), and Scorpion (4.93%).

The second and possibly more surprising soap opera to land on its network's list of Top 10 most watched shows of October is Days of our Lives! The 50-year-old series brought in 5.10% of NBC's numbers, just above Grimm (2.15%) and Law and Order Special Victims Unit (3.42%), and just below Chicago PD (18.27%), The Blacklist (18.12%), The Voice (17.52%), Heroes Reborn (14.34%), Saturday Night Live, (7.62%), and Blindspot (6.74%).

The two soaps that did not manage to crack the list of their networks' Top 10 most watched shows of October were ABC's General Hospital and CBS's The Bold and the Beautiful, though B&B did manage to trail slightly behind Y&R back in September.

What do you think about Y&R and DAYS being part of the major networks' top watched shows? Are you surprised that they managed to bring in audience numbers comparable to primetime hits?
