Nikki visits Diane in the hospital and the two get into it big time. Diane tells Nikki about Victor's vasectomy. Jack and Victoria learn of Cole's 90 day plan regarding his marriage. Grace finally tells Sharon that Cassie is her first child. Diane returns home from the hospital to find a lavish arrangement of flowers from Nikki who has told Jack that she is changing her tactics where Diane is concerned. Dru visits the dance studio for some therapeutic dancing. Phyllis, Christine and Danny fly to New York on separate flights to retrieve the manuscript that Sasha sent to Peter Garrett. Phyllis gets the manuscript first, but Danny takes it from her and flies out of the room.

Sharon can't tell Nick her good news for the time being, but she does let Doris know that she has found her daughter. Dru goes to see the fertility specialist about in vitro fertilization, but will Neil go along with it? When she goes to him, he rejects her again. Cole informs Vicki that he is going to be seeing a lot more of Ashley. Vicki comes on to Ryan; they go to a special dinner and who is there but Cole and Ashley. Lurking outside the door, Sara/Veronica overhears Josh tell Nick that his first wife is dead. Sara/Veronica finishes her medication but is unable to get it refilled. She decides she doesn't need it anyway and tosses away the bottle. Later, lurking in the hallway, Sara/Veronica overhears Josh ask Nikki to have his baby. Plans are in the works for a surprise 22nd birthday party for Vicki.

When Victoria thinks everyone has forgotten her birthday, she makes plans with Tony. She is totally surprised when everyone shows up in the boardroom and Victor wishes her a happy birthday by making her president of Brash and Sassy, as well as giving her seat on the board of directors of Newman Enterprises. After a witnessing a family hug, from which she is excluded, Diane goes to her office to think. Jack follows her there and is trying to comfort her when Victor arrives. He is angry at Diane and demands to know what is going on. Finally Diane tells him her true feelings for Nikki and how she feels about his vasectomy. Danny calls Christine twice to come over to "help his with Daniel." Christine fails to tell Paul about either visit. Paul tells Chris it is time for them to have a baby.

Just before Grace and Tony secretly run away with Cassie, Sharon pleads with them to work with her on a plan to help Cassie make the transition easier. She promises that Grace will still be a part of Cassie's life. Nikki becomes suspicious of Sara after her favorite wedding photo is found to be missing. Victoria is given a new office befitting the president of the company. Cole arranges a celebration at the tack house. Vicki plies him with alcohol until he awakens the next day to learn that they "did." Phyllis finds out that Joanie is contemplating going to work for Danny. Danny visits Chris and pleads with her to remember what they had together.

Sharon approaches Christine and Paul about possibly having Grace watched. Dru calls her agent, Sid, and tells him she is ready for the month-long tour he has planned. However, when she returns home, she finds Neil waiting to talk about putting their marriage back together. After calling Sid and canceling the tour, the two get back together. Nina hears from the publisher of the national magazine that they are going to publish her short story. Nikki searches Sharon and /V's room and finds a satchel with three padlocks in place. After first refusing to open it, Sara/Veronica brings it down stairs and unlocks it in front of Nikki. Back upstairs, she replaces the incriminating objects. After hearing that Cole and Vicki slept together, Ashley tells Cole she is through with him. Vicki decides to move back in with Cole, but he asks her for a divorce. Victor accuses Sharon of seeing another man.

Michael Baldwin offers to work pro bono for Legal Aid, but Christine throws him out. Phyllis visits Paul and tells him that Christine and Danny are spending a lot of time together. Victor has a talk with both Tony and Grace regarding Sharon. To Grace's delight, he tells her not to send Cassie to the ranch any more. Danny throws a birthday party for Daniel and only invites Christine. He is angry and disappointed when Paul shows up with her. Catherine advises him to continue going after Christine---the love of his life. Sharon and Grace argue over Cassie. Cassie's adoptive mother, Alice, returns to her home. Finding Cassie gone, she calls the police and reports her kidnapped.

Neil moves back in with Dru and Lily leaving Ryan free for another roommate. Ryan has to do some fast talking to convince Tricia that she shouldn't move in with him. Nina is paid for her story. Unexpectedly, Miguel kisses Sara and gets a slap for his efforts. After being rebuffed by Ashley for the second time, Cole asks Vicki---who expects him to be ready for a reconciliation---to talk to Ashley and explain that things are really over for him and Vicki. Vicki angrily tells Ashley that this is the hardest thing she has ever done, but it is idiotic of her to refuse Cole since he loves her---Ash---and not herself. Diane presents Victor with a surprise portrait much to Nikki's chagrin. Sharon tells Christine the entire Cassie story after everyone conspires to keep her and Cassie apart. Tony, on the verge of leaving, returns to Grace at Sharon's insistence.

Thanks to Victoria's intervention, Cole and Ashley get back together. Victor is forced to accept that his daughter and Cole are being divorced when divorce papers are served on Cole in his office. When she sees her husband down in the dumps about his children, she plans a "mile-high" surprise for him. Phillip pays a visit to Ryan at his office and is surprised when his dad sheds tears of joy at getting another chance with him. Sharon learns that both her husband and her father-in-law have told Grace not to bring Cassie to the ranch any more. She goes to Chris and Paul; she tells them about Cassie. Chris warns her that neither she nor Grace have a legal right to Cassie and if she continues to push it, Cassie could end up in a foster home. Cassie is becoming confused by the behavior of both Grace and Cassie. Tony and Grace finally make love. Danny continues to tell Chris that they belong together. Jack confuses Jill by both complimenting and flirting with her. Sara/Veronica comes up with a plan to get Josh alone---she fakes a "female" illness and goes to the hospital. Neil is impotent.

Grace concocts an elaborate ruse to get Sharon out of the house so she can take Cassie. However, unaware that she is being followed, she is stopped at the airport just as she is about to get on the plane to leave the country. Nikki barges into Victor's private birthday party and announces that she is having a baby with Josh. That night, unaware that Sara/Veronica is listening in, she tells her husband that she is ready to have his baby. Christine tells Paul that she is having feelings for Danny. Paul confronts Danny which only confirms Danny's suspicion that Christine is still in love with him. Neil continues to have problems in the bedroom. Dru is heartbroken and contemplates giving Neil his freedom. Sid calls with a job offer.

Sharon and Grace try to explain to Cassie that she is Sharon's daughter, but Cassie doesn't want a new Mommy. When Nick comes home to find Cassie there yet again, he storms out of the house. Josh and Nikki spend hours "making a baby," not knowing that Sara/Veronica has bugged their bedroom and is listening to every word they say. When Paul and Chris stop by Gina's to unwind, Danny sings a song directly to Chris who is mesmerized. In disgust, Paul leaves the restaurant. Danny comes up to Chris and they kiss. Later, Paul tells Chris to move out of the apartment tonight. Jack calls Nikki and tells her that Nick needs her. While she is in town, Sara/Veronica reveals herself to Josh. When Josh rejects her, she shoots him. When Nikki comes home and finds Sara/Veronica acting weird and insolent, she orders her out of the house. Instead, Veronica shoots her also.

Jack finds Nikki unconscious after being shot four times. The family gathers at her bedside after surgery to stand vigil, as doctors don't give her much hope of surviving. Victor has interrupted his honeymoon to return to Nikki's bedside. In a motel room, Sara/Veronica says goodbye to Sara and hello to Veronica. It is now time to let the people of Genoa City get to know Veronica, she says. Sharon took the kids to her mother's house because there is too much tension at the ranch between her and Nick; she doesn't find out that her mother in law has been shot. Ryan and Nina's divorce was granted, but he has to wait six months to remarry, he told Keith. He and Tricia move in together. He prepared her a romantic evening for her first night there. However, Tricia's untimely arrival interrupted a visit by Phillip to his dad. Neil overheard a conversation between Dru and Olivia. He demanded to know what she meant when she said there was something Neil was better off not knowing.

Neil tells Dru he's tired of her deception. Dru tells him just because she wants a career doesn't make her a terrible person. She decides to take the extended modeling job and leaves, taking Lily with her. Christine confides to John Silva that she is thinking of helping Michael Baldwin get his law license back. Phyllis tells Michael that Christine will never forgive and forget him for what he did to her. The vigil for Nikki at the hospital continues, as Victor vows to find Sara and have her punished for what she's done. Victor remembers the good times he once shared with Nikki, the idyllic family life they had. He calls Diane from the hospital to tell her he's coming home-he has something important to discuss with her. At the apartment he tells her that Nikki will most certainly die, and he wants to reunite the family before she does by remarrying her. He needs Diane's cooperation to do his. Diane reluctantly agrees, and Victor heads to the Dominican Republic for a quickie divorce. Back at the hospital Nikki is starting to wake up, asking where Joshua is. Shortly after learning of his death, Nikki goes into cardiac arrest, and has a near death experience. When she gets "back" Victor is there, and tells her he wants them to be a family again. He asks Nikki if she would be his wife again, and Nikki tells him it's all she's ever wanted, and that she feels at peace now. Yes, she says, yes I do. Victor gently kisses her.

After Victor marries Nikki so that she can die in peace, Nikki turns the corner and is taken off life-support. Jack asks Victor where he will go from here as far as Nikki and Diane are concerned. Victor accuses Jack of spending too much time with "his wife," Diane. Sharon makes a decision to take Doris and the children on a vacation. Grace asks Tony to forgive her; she wants things back like they used to be. Miguel and Veronica sit together for coffee and talk. Neil and Victoria get close. Nick arrives at Doris's and demands that if Sharon has anything to say to him, she say it now -- or he is out of here!

Danny goes into complete kidney shutdown; he is doomed to a lifetime of dialysis until he can get a kidney transplant. Victor takes notice of the growing relationship between Neil and Victoria; he calls Neil in and confronts him. Jack tells Jill that she has been in his dreams for years. Sharon and Tony go out on a dinner date, but they only talk about their mutual mates. Veronica comes to the ranch and meets Nikki. Phillip begs his dad to make them a family again. Phyllis moves into Danny's place to be with Daniel much to Joanie's dismay. By the end of the week, Danny receives a kidney from an anonymous live donor and Christine, determined to find this person and thank him, learns who the donor is.

When they are alone, Sharon informs Grace than any fantasies she has about her husband will never come about. Paul and Christine arrange for Mary to "meet" an old friend at lunch. John Silva advises Victor to "up the ante" and give Diane a larger settlement. When they arrive and present Diane with the new check, she is tempted, but instead of accepting it, she tears it into small pieces. After Victor pays Diane a surprise visit without his attorney and calls her names, Diane pays Nikki a visit and offers to tell her something more stunning than anything she has ever heard.

Later, an angry Jack places a call to someone in Rome. In order to show Grace how close she and Nick are, Sharon throws an impromptu pool party. Unaware of the party in progress, Victor invites Ashley and Cole to have steaks with him at home. Michael encourages Chris to accept a prestigious job offer in Romania. Jack suggests that Diane needs a personal assistant.

Katherine is devastated when Jill humiliates her at the party. Jill has to be carried out by Ryan and Jack. Katherine learns from Mitchell that Jill's claim may be valid. Victor buys the Production Company that produces The Leanna Love Show and fires Leanna; next he swears vengeance on Michael Baldwin. Victoria enjoys telling Ashley that she is engaged knowing that Cole hasn't told her himself. Victoria and Neil plan a night out with Victor and Nikki where they hope to give them some good news. Olivia confronts Malcolm about her doubts. Callie is surprised when Trey shows up at The Crow's Nest. Tricia tries to spoil Nina's night out with her date. Grace watches as Tony flirts, then leaves, with a young girl. Nick invites himself to the Parent-Teacher night at Cassie's school much to Cassie's delight. Alice continues to search for her daughter. Michael is kidnapped.

Dru arrives in Genoa City and surprises Neil and Victoria. She in turn is surprised to learn that Neil and Victoria are planning to marry. She and Neil come to an amicable agreement, but Victor sees something that he doesn't like. Jill is happy with the ruling the judge makes in her case. Tony tells Grace that they are disengaged and walks out. Diane finds Michael missing but Phyllis isn't concerned. Paul asks Charlie what his intentions are concerning his mother. Mary visits the beauty shop and has a make-over. Chris makes plans to go to Norfolk to investigate the mystery man she saw there but she tells Paul she is going on legal business. Before leaving for Norfolk, Chris accepts Victor's offer to work for him. After a visit from Nikki in which she asks his help in the Diane mess, Jack thinks the time is right for him to get serious about his plan. When Bradley won't talk to him on the phone, he makes reservations for a flight to Rome.

Tony and Grace renew their engagement when Grace promises to marry him two weeks after the business trip. After telling Tricia to stay out of her love life, Megan overhears Tony talking about getting married. Chris has very little luck in Norfolk but at the airport, she just misses coming face to face with the person she is searching for. The counterman at the restaurant recognizes Carl but denies knowing him. Chris leaves her name and phone number but Pete loses it. Carl discovers that someone has his picture and is looking for him. Returning to GC, Chris learns that Victor plans to fire John Silva and use her on the divorce case; she talks him into keeping John but he demands that Chris is the chief counsel. Michael is about to escape when his captors regain control of him and drop him off near his apartment. He thinks that Victor is responsible but is warned that he had better have proof before making an accusation. Phyllis leaves for a visit with her folks in New York. Callie loses her job at the Crow's Nest and her room there. Olivia pays a visit to Callie. Nick leaves for his business trip. Noah has some fretful nights; Sharon gets very little sleep. Esther is so worried about the possibility of losing her only home that she inadvertently starts a fire in the kitchen.

Victor moves back in with Diane but she is terrified of him and goes to Michael's place for the night. Phyllis returns home and throws Diane out of her apartment and then admits to Michael that she is the one who kidnapped him. Nick works overtime to be finished with all his business so that he will have time to spend with Sharon when she arrives. Back at the ranch, Sharon is on her way out the door when Lisa tells her that Noah has a temp of 103 degrees. Ashley goes to Neil with her insecurities concerning Cole's imminent fatherhood. Neil goes straight to Vicki with the things that Ashley has told him. Vicki and Cole share an intimate moment feeling the baby move. Nikki dresses up as a cleaning woman to get some time alone with her husband. Brad arrives in GC and meets secretly with Jack. Later he makes an unscheduled visit to Victor's office. Jill wants Katherine arrested for arson. Olivia demands that Malcolm come clean about his past relationship with Callie and she doesn't like what she hears. Callie moves into the spare room above Gina's. Olivia hires Paul to investigate Callie. Pete finds the paper with Christine's name and phone number and gives it to Ruth.

Victor and Diane continue their charade. Nina is invited to an important symposium in Iowa. Ryan agrees to keep Phillip while Nina is away. Chris questions the strength of Carl and Mary's marriage and pushes Paul too far. Mary has an explanation for Christine's curiosity about Carl. Noah is ill and Sharon can't leave him. Grace comforts Nick in more ways than one. Back at the ranch, Noah's fever breaks and Sharon heads for a happy reunion with her husband in Denver.

After a wonderful night together, Sharon overhears Grace and Nick talking about making love before Sharon arrived in Denver. Walking the streets in shock, Sharon is hit by a car and ends up in the emergency room. The next day, she checks herself out of the hospital and flies back to GC without telling Nick. Callie told Malcolm why she stopped seeing him all those years ago. Malcolm goes out of town for a while. Callie begins to work as a singing waitress at Gina's but Trey finds out that she is singing again and pays her a visit. Ryan is called away on an emergency business trip to Denver leaving Tricia alone with Phillip. Jill gets an emergency hearing called concerning the fire. Victor and Diane call it off and Victor returns to the ranch. Vicki makes plans to redecorate Neil's bedroom prior to moving in with him. Chris learns who called her from Virginia.

Sharon told Tony about Nick and Grace. Nick has his day in the spotlight without his father present. Later, he changes his room from the suite to a private room. He accuses Grace of telling Sharon about their night. Nikki learns that Sharon was in an auto accident and now plans to leave Nick. She calls Victor home and he is only able to convince Sharon not to leave just yet. Katherine has to vacate the Chancellor mansion. Katherine hires Michael Baldwin to represent her and fires Mitchell Sherman. Nina returns and learns that Ryan was gone the entire time Phillip was at his house. Victoria is admitted to the hospital but she only calls Neil. Brad met Diane and offered his support to her.

Alice learned the identity of Cassie's birth mother. Nikki and Victor have an idea what happened in Denver. Sharon asks Cassie if she would like to move in with Grandma Doris for a while; Cassie begged Sharon not to make her leave another home. Nick returns home. Malcolm returns to GC and he and Olivia fight about Callie. Chris goes to Norfolk and questions Ruth about Jim. Victor and Nikki learn that Victoria is in the hospital. Later, Neil calls Cole. Vicki needs emergency surgery. Jack told Victor that his personal problems are affecting business around the world. He suggests that Victor step aside for a while and let him take over. Brad and Ashley kiss. Diane asks Jack's advice about the settlement.

Grace goes to the office and finds it empty. Jill, John and Jack learn that Katherine has hired a new attorney. Victoria delivers a critically ill child by C/S. Victor offered Bradley a position at NE.

Jack is able to save the company, temporarily at least, from a lawsuit when he learns that Nick has fired Grace. He tells Grace that it is a lateral move within the company. Nikki learns the reason Sharon and Nick are separated and she doesn't like it one bit! Jack learns that Victor has hired Bradley. Brad celebrates with Diane. Jack gets a surprise visit from Phyllis. Paul follows Chris to Norfolk and walks in on a meeting between Chris, Jim, and Ruth. Paul recognizes his father but his father doesn't know who he is. Vicki, Neil and Cole grieve the loss of Eve. Malcolm goes to Detroit to see Trey and get Callie's contract, but Trey will only give it to Callie if she comes there to get it. Ryan goes to Crimson Lights to see Nina and finds her with Kyle.

Grace thinks that she is fired when she finds her office cleared out with nothing left but a telephone. Victor hires Brad but tells him he has to keep his eyes on Jack because he is up to something. Phyllis pays Jack a long visit. The Newman's have a service for Eve. Nikki and Grace have a confrontation. Nick and Sharon share coffee at Gina's. Alice visits Sharon's old high school. Paul can't believe his father really has amnesia. Phyllis attempts to seduce Michael. Brad and Diane share a passionate kiss. Gina hosts her annual party for the homeless with the help of many of GC's residents.

Victor continues to put Brad and Jack off about announcing to the company that they are now in charge of NE. Victor wants to fire Grace but Jack tells him that he cannot. Sharon tells Nikki that Nick is just like his father and if she had known that, she never would have married him. Paul tells Jim that he is his father! Victoria comes home---to the ranch. Grace gets a new job and a new boss. Grace has another confrontation---this time with Sharon. Michael arranges a visit to her home for Katherine. When Jill hears about it, she crashes the party. Tricia is unhappy when she learns that Ryan went to Nina for comfort. Phillip has definite ideas about how he wants to spend Christmas. Jill's case against Katherine begins. Tony and Nick fight. Beatrice disappears.

Katherine and Jill both testify in their case. Callie pleads with Malcolm not to go see Trey again. Victor questions Brad about his relationship with Diane. Phyllis goes to Diane and asks her help in getting Michael back, but Diane passes. Jim and Ruth get an offer on their home. Trey arrives in GC with a terrific offer for Callie: opening for Aretha Franklin in 28 cities. Phillip refuses to go on the ski trip with Ryan and Tricia. Ashley receives a call from a mysterious man in Paris. Later she tells Cole that she has to go to Paris but will try to return home before Christmas. Alice meets Grace's mother.

Beatrice Tucker turns up and takes the stand, and Michael drags out of her that she was given money by Jill in exchange for her testimony. Ryan invites Phillip on a holiday ski trip with him and Tricia. Phillip passes on the offer, telling him the idea "stinks." Megan continues to swoon over Tony. Jack noses around other companies, gathering support for the possible takeover of Newman Enterprises. Victoria returns to work. Chris and Paul go to Mary's to secretly borrow some of Carl's belongings in the hopes of jogging his memory. Paul tries in vain to help Carl remember who he is, without success. Charlie proposes to Mary. Trey tells Callie that he wants her back, but she tells him that any relationship they had ended long ago. Malcolm tells Olivia he doesn't trust Trey. Olivia angrily reminds him that he has a family. Michael tells Grace to tough it out at Newman Enterprises, but to begin keeping a record of the treatment she is receiving there. An excited Alice tracks down Grace in Genoa City and gives her a call. Later she shows up on Grace's doorstep, just as Grace is thinking about what she could do to get back at the Newmans. Alice tells her that she is looking for someone, and that she believes Grace can help her.

Katherine and Jill are shocked by the verdict. Victoria invites Cole for Christmas Eve but he refuses. Neil and Vicki grow apart. Carl decides he has to go to GC. Victor finally makes his announcement and Nikki is furious. She pays a brief visit to Diane. Jack goes to Los Angeles to see Brooke Logan at Forrester's. Tricia comes up with a plan for competing with Phillip.

It isn't a merry Christmas at the Ranch. Sharon finally calls Nick but he is out. Nick's gift to Sharon is the picture Cassie drew of her family; Nick has had it framed. Michael gives Grace advice concerning Alice. Nick spends New Year's Eve with Sharon and the children and is rewarded by a kiss. Jack and Brad disagree about the Forrester deal. GC residents ring in the New Year at the Colonnade Room.
