Devious Maids to return for third season

Devious Maids will have a third season on Lifetime in 2015, but will Susan Lucci's Genevieve Delatour survive the health crisis she suffered in season two?

Soapy Lifetime drama Devious Maids has been renewed for a 13-episode third season. The show costars Susan Lucci (ex-Erica Kane), whose character, Genevieve Delatour, spent the season two finale awaiting a much-needed kidney transplant.

The show's future hung in the balance even after a successful second season, in part due to creator/executive producer Marc Cherry's decision not to continue as full-time show-runner. To keep the show going, Ric Swartzlander, a veteran show-runner, will join the team as executive producer/co-show-runner. Brian Tanen, who has been a producer/supervising producer on the drama from the start, will also step up to a co-show-runner position.

"Get ready #DeviousArmy! We're back for a third season in 2015 on @LifetimeTV!" said the show's Twitter account. Viewers will have to tune in to see whether renewed life for the series also means renewed life for Genevieve Delatour in the form of finally getting that kidney transplant.

In addition to Lucci, Devious Maids stars Ana Ortiz, Dania Ramrez, Roselyn Snchez, Edy Ganem, Judy Reyes, and Rebecca Wisocky.
