Chainsaw Man chapter 204 recap

Chainsaw Man chapter 204, titled "With One Life", continued Denji and Yoru’s struggles against the Death Devil’s servants, as they were inside a levitating building that was going to be dropped on the ground by the Falling Devil. In a moment of unexpected brilliance, however, Yoru realized that the building’s destroyed state would allow her to “own” it and turn it into a weapon.

As a result, in the sky, she turned the structure into a “Building Sword”, after which Denji caught her and landed safely on the floor. Immediately after, Yoru noticed the nearby Falling Devil and left to kill her. In her parting words, she told Denji to defeat Fakesaw Man, warning that she would kill him in her own way if he failed.

Realizing that this would involve the deaths of the innocent civilians attached to Fakesaw Man, Denji was left with no choice. Though he initially tried to make Fakesaw Man give up, explaining how he was weak, it was to no avail. Denji then engaged in an exhilarating battle against his opponent, where he carefully cut off Fakesaw Man’s head and then slashed through his body.

This miraculously set those trapped within him free, with Denji rejoicing that his plan worked similarly to a video game. However, not everyone escaped unscathed, as the dismembered body of the human who was stuck near Fakesaw Man’s heart ended up on Denji’s body. This caused the surviving civilians to run away in fear, though Denji tried to come to terms with the situation.

At that moment, fan theories were finally put to rest as the Fire Devil appeared behind Denji. The chapter ends with the Fire Devil posing a question to the protagonist, where it points towards the head of a mysterious person who used to be inside, asking Denji whether he knew him.
