Gachiakuta: What are Mymo's powers and abilities?

Gachiakuta is an immensely imaginative shonen manga set in a world built around trash. The series follows Rudo, a young boy who is thrown into the Pit after being framed for his father's murder. In the abyss filled with waste, Rudo joins an organization known as the Cleaners, and sets out to uncover the mystery of his lineage while striving to return to the surface.

In the time Rudo spends in the Pit, he encounters various antagonists whom he is forced to fight alongside the rest of the cast. The news reporter Mymo is the latest in this list, officially being revealed as a villain in the Doll Festival Arc. He may not seeming intimidating at first glance, but he soon proved everyone wrong through his actions.

Mymo is able to control anyone whose blood he consumes. Although this may seem to be a disadvantageous condition to manipulate others, he has managed to overcome it ingeniously through the use of the Choker Maker and his Vital Instrument, Elenhos.

Mymo is one of the most enigmatic characters in Gachiakuta, having been present since the early arcs as an ordinary news reporter with an energetic attitude. However, when Rudo was talking with the Choker Maker during the Doll Festival, Mymo brought the event to a standstill, controlling every member of the audience who wore a choker with his mic.

Since the Choker Maker had replaced Rudo's choker earlier and the other Cleaners had been advised by the Information Broker to not wear their apparel, they were saved from Mymo's power. Hence, the recent chapters of Gachiakuta saw the main cast trying to fight against the antagonist and his desire to rule the world.

As mentioned, Mymo's main ability is to control people whose blood he has consumed. However, since he is manipulating the entire audience of the Doll Festival, it would not make sense that he drank all their blood. The Choker Maker gave insight into how Mymo overcame his skill's limitation in Gachiakuta chapter 139.

Every choker worn by a person contains a mix of the Choker Maker's and the wearer's blood. Using this combination, Mymo refined his powers to extend to anyone wearing the chokers with mixed blood. Thus, by leveraging his influence over the Choker Maker and his blood, Mymo can “rule” anyone wearing a traditional choker.

His skill is elevated by his Vital Instrument, Elenhos, which is a mic that makes his commands heard by all the people in his vicinity. Therefore, with this ability, Mymo can control numerous individuals, forcing them to obey every word of his. He had used it in the recent chapter to command hordes of people to attack and kill the main characters.

What makes Mymo so dangerous in Gachiakuta?

Mymo's design makes him seem like a small-time villain who wouldn't pose much of a challenge to the heroes. However, Gachiakuta has proven otherwise. He has displayed great conviction in his desire to control and rule over everyone, while being both eccentric and intellectual.

Mymo's manipulation of innocent civilians is majorly advantageous against Rudo and the Cleaners, who wouldn't want to harm their opponents. This already places him a step ahead in their battle, as he can simply keep threatening to kill his subjects if the Cleaners don't obey his wishes.

Mymo has also proven to be durable, easily getting up after being devastatingly struck by Enjin's umbrella. Finally, Mymo has capable subordinates named Gil and Felix, who seem willing to fight for him even without being influenced by his powers. As a result, this deceptive antagonist, who may not seem dangerous but is extremely menacing, is sure to push the protagonist beyond his limits.
