One Piece is filled with different power structures, and one of them is Haki. Haki comes in three different types, and Armament Haki is one of them. Strong One Piece fighters capable of using Armament Haki to increase their power are present throughout the series. It lets characters harden their bodies or weapons to land stronger hits or defend against attacks.

This power is also very useful against Logia-type Devil Fruit users. While physical attacks cannot directly harm them, Armament Haki makes it possible to deal damage to them. Some characters take this power to another level, making them the best in the anime series. Here are the top ten strongest Armament Haki users in the One Piece anime, ranked from the best to the worst.

Ranking of the One Piece characters

10. Monkey D. Luffy

Luffy is the leader of the Straw Hat Pirates. He has a rubber body and a strong will. As he fought stronger enemies, Luffy had to improve himself for the sake of his crew. After getting overwhelmed by Kizaru and Sentomaru and facing defeat at Marineford, Luffy learns Haki from Silvers Rayleigh.

And now, Armament Haki is one of his primary weapons in battle. Luffy demonstrated some nice control of the Armament Haki when he fought Kaido. He even learned a higher level of it, known as advanced Ryuo. This advanced form lets him hurt Kaido from the inside without touching him. It was a big step in Luffy’s journey and made him much stronger.

9. Mihawk

Mihawk is the strongest swordsman in One Piece. He is calm, serious, and very powerful. As a member of the Seven Warlords, Mihawk has clashed with quite strong individuals. He may not have a Devil Fruit power, but his swordsmanship and Haki skills have made him one of the most feared characters in the series.

Mihawk employed Armament Haki to intensify the force of his blows. For him to be so feared as a swordsman, his Haki skills must be off the charts. Characters like Shanks and Crocodile respect him, which really shows how strong he is. He managed to transform his sword, Yoru, into a permanent Black Blade. In One Piece, Mihawk is a great example of how Haki can boost sword skills to their peak even without Devil Fruits.

8. Big Mom

Big Mom is one of the Four Emperors in One Piece. She is the captain of the Big Mom Pirates and rules over Whole Cake Island. With her Soul-Soul Fruit and giant size, she is already a threat. But her Haki adds to her strength, making her even harder to stop.

Big Mom used powerful Armament Haki during her fight with Kid and Law in Wano. Her skin is naturally tough, but her Haki made it nearly impossible to damage her. It had taken both pirates working together to fight her. Plus, she used her Haki to block Luffy’s Kong Gun. The Kong Gun attack surpassed Doflamingo’s and Katakuri’s Armament Haki when they fought Luffy. Big Mom, in One Piece, has an absolutely terrifying Devil Fruit. But that is just one of the few reasons she is feared. Her Haki makes her one of the best fighters in the world.

7. Kaido

Kaido is known as the strongest creature in One Piece. He is the leader of the Beast Pirates and can become a dragon with his Mythical Devil Fruit. Kaido is known for his great defense and unmatched power in battle. He and the Beast Pirates were shown governing Wano as tyrants to the people of Wano.

He covered his weapon with Armament Haki to make it stronger. Luffy’s Haki couldn’t block Kaido’s attacks, just like when he fought Katakuri on Whole Cake Island. This demonstrated his skill. In One Piece, Kaido’s Haki helped him stay on top for many years.

6. Kozuki Oden

Oden was a legendary samurai from Wano in One Piece. He was the daimyo of Kuri and traveled with both Whitebeard and Gol D. Roger. Oden was among the people on Gol D. Roger’s ship who reached the final island, Laugh Tale. He was brave, wild, and loved adventure. His strength left a strong impression on the world.

The first time Oden and Whitebeard met, Whitebeard sensed him as strong before he attacked. Their clash was short, but it showed that Oden, without journeying in the New World, was already strong. Oden used powerful Armament Haki to clash with Kaido. He was also the first man in Wano to injure Kaido, causing a wound that never closed. His Haki-filled sword strikes were powerful enough to stagger even the mightiest foes in One Piece.

5. Silvers Rayleigh

Rayleigh, also known as the Dark King, is the former first mate of the Roger Pirates in One Piece. He trained Luffy during the time skip, teaching him how to use all three types of Haki. Rayleigh is still very strong, even though he’s old. He’s always fun to watch.

In the Sabaody Archipelago, when Camie was to be auctioned at the Human Auctioning House, it was Rayleigh who removed it from her neck using advanced Armament Haki. He ripped it off when it was about to explode, showing a higher level of Haki control. In One Piece, few people have the same calm and precise use of Haki as Rayleigh.

4. Shanks

Shanks is another of the Four Emperors in One Piece. He is the captain of the Red-Haired Pirates and a former member of the Roger Pirates. He is known for his strong will and being one of the few characters with no known Devil Fruit powers. Shanks played a huge role in Luffy’s life as he put him on the path of piracy.

While he is best known for his Conqueror’s Haki, Shanks also has strong Armament Haki. During the intense battle at Marineford, when the battle was in the heat of the moment, Shanks pulled up with his crew. He blocks an Akainu-Devil-Fruit-empowered blow with a Haki-empowered sword. One Piece uses Shanks to show how Haki alone can make one a top-tier fighter.

3. Whitebeard

Whitebeard, also known as Edward Newgate, was the strongest man in One Piece. He was one of the Yonko and the captain of the Whitebeard Pirates. Whitebeard wielded the ability of the Quake-Quake Fruit, with which he could cause shock waves and tsunamis. Even into his old years, he was still a respected and powerful man.

At the Marineford war, Whitebeard utilized Armament Haki to trade blows with the Admirals, such as Akainu. His punches, enhanced by Haki and his Devil Fruit, caused massive destruction. Earlier in his prime, he clashed with Gol D. Roger using the advanced form of Armament Haki. In One Piece, Whitebeard was one of the strongest for many years.

2. Gol D. Roger

Roger in One Piece was the Pirate King. He was the only person known to have reached the final island, Laugh Tale. Even without a Devil Fruit power, Roger has battled and emerged victorious against one of the toughest rivals he has met because of his efficiency in utilizing Haki. He clashed with fellow pirates and Marines on many occasions. Roger’s escapades are still spoken of to this day in One Piece.

When he first met Kozuki Oden, Roger sent him flying in a single swing without much stress. Roger used Armament Haki combined with Conqueror’s Haki in his fight against Whitebeard. Their swords didn’t clash, but the air around their weapons exploded outward with their impact. His use of Haki was so advanced that it shocked everyone who saw it. In One Piece, Roger’s Haki was proof of his greatness.

1. Monkey D. Garp

Garp is a famous Marine and Luffy’s grandpa. He fought strong people like Gol D. Roger and Rocks D. Xebec. Without the aid of a Devil Fruit, he became one of the Marines' most powerful officers. His escapades and legacy are stories that are told to other Marines. Garp’s strength comes from raw power and elite Haki.

Garp used Armament Haki to punch mountains and sink ships with his fists. It was he who dented Don Chinjao's Armament Haki-enhanced drill-shaped head. In the recent events at Hachinosu, he knocked down powerful enemies using nothing but his Haki and physical strength. In One Piece, Garp is a legend and living proof that Haki and hard work can rival any power.

Conclusion

Armament Haki is one of the most important powers in One Piece. It allows fighters to hit harder, block deadly attacks, and, most importantly, fight Logia users. The characters on this list have shown the best use of this ability. Some wield it with swords, some use their fists, but they’re all testament to the strength of Haki.

With the progression of the story, we might get to witness more advanced forms of Haki. But for now, these ten characters stand at the top when it comes to Armament Haki.
