Van Hansis' digital series Eastsiders returning for season three

The critically acclaimed series Eastsiders, starring As the World Turns alum Van Hansis (ex-Luke Snyder), is returning for a third season -- but the season could be even bigger with your support.

The Emmy-nominated digital series Eastsiders is returning for a third season. The dark comedy starring Kit Williamson and As the World Turns alum Van Hansis (ex-Luke Snyder) has met its crowdfunding goal of $60,000. The series is, however, continuing its crowdfunding efforts to make the third season even better.

"We're doing things a little differently this time around: we've already raised enough funds to shoot EastSiders Season 3," the series announced on its Kickstart page. "We have also created some amazing STRETCH GOALS we have in mind if we get to 60K early--with your help we know we can do it!

EastSiders launched in 2013 to a lot of love from fans and critics alike, with Entertainment Weekly calling the show "funny and heartbreaking" and Out Magazine praising it as "relatable, fresh" and "darkly funny." The series has picked up a gaggle of awards and nominations-- Best Web Drama at the 2013 LA Weekly Awards, Best Ensemble at the Indie Series Awards, and two Daytime Emmy Awards nominations in Outstanding Digital Daytime Drama Series and Outstanding Actor in a Digital Daytime Drama Series. In 2016 the series found a world-wide audience on Netflix, and has now been subtitled in a dozen languages.

Season two of EastSiders left Cal (played by Kitt Williamson) and Thom (played by Hansis) determined to make things work, despite some confusing developments in their newly monogomish relationship. After a challenging year in New York City, the guys hit the road back west to Los Angeles to pick up the pieces of their old life, but nothing can prepare them for the unexpected twists and turns they'll face on the journey home. Season three was shot on location in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, South Dakota, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, Oregon, Nevada, and (of course) California!

"Driving across the country with a crew has to be one of the craziest thing we've ever done, but the end result will be unlike anything you've seen on the web," the series promises. "The Great American Road Trip is about to get a lot gayer!"
