We finally know why The Bold and the Beautiful's Carter Walton is best friends with Ridge Forrester. They have everything in common, even their ability to move on from one woman to the next during a commercial break. Although Carter didn't go quite as far as Ridge did a few weeks ago and marry someone after the commercial break, give it time. The young grasshopper still has a lot to learn from the master.
Hope for Liam's Future

Who didn't see this coming months ago, even before Liam's fake tumor, that Lope was where this was going all damn year? All Hope had to do was sit down at the Il Giardano bar and listen to her dad wax nostalgic about Liam for us to know we'd get here eventually. We just thought Liam would want Steffy back before he wanted Hope back, and we'd be going through that ish again (we still might, more on that later).
When Hope allowed Carter to put a ring on it, we knew that was a joke. We just thought we'd see Hope leave Carter at the altar, but we never made it to the altar. Instead, we got whiplash.
The episode began with Carter so excited that he got Ridge to agree to give Hope back the fashion line she doesn't actually design, that he wanted to elope right then and there. As she did the last time Carter was ready to elope last month, Hope giggled and tried to change the subject, but then came a text from Liam with pics of him and Beth.
Within minutes, Hope and Carter's engagement was over, and Hope was with Liam and Beth at their living room dance, making sure that Liam noticed that her ring was missing. We have no idea what happened after that because we had the Luna shift the next day (more on that later, too).
But wait...Carter's in love again, guys

About once a year (and sometimes twice), Carter inspires music in our minds. In fact, we can hear the ghost of Debbie Reynolds in the background singing, "Carter, Carter, Carter's in love."
Cause Carter wasted NO time moving the heck on. "Marry Me, Hope. Tonight. No? Okay, well, give me my ring cause Daphne said it’s Karaoke Night at the Olive Garden."
That is pretty much essentially what happened. Another girl gone, another one waiting at Deacon's Olive Garden, ready and raring to go. Heck, she flew all the way from France to give Carter Walton another chance. That's right. Daphne is in love, and this has never happened to her before with a man she has barely had a conversation with or even spent time with outside of Eric's office.
Sad songs say so much...

That's right. Carter just waltzed out of Eric's office and into Il Giardano (does anyone ever walk into this restaurant, or is it strictly al fresco?) to find Daphne sad-songing on the mic. Poor Daphne. Fragrance princess extraordinaire with a nose like no other, drowning her sorrows at open mic night over Carter Walton, the man who looks to Ridge Forrester as his source of romantic inspiration.
The look Carter gave Daphne said it all. "How you doin'?" was all we could hear as Carter got that look in his eye. Hope? What's a Hope?
And really, what was that anyway? Did Poppy's magic mints contribute to the idea that Hope and Carter should become a romantic pairing, two characters who barely ever shared a scene together? How did this even happen? Honestly, we don't want to know. We are just so relieved it's over. And all it took was a commercial break.
Now, about Steffy...

There is no way in heck that Steffy is not going to lose her ever-loving mind the moment she touches down in fictional Los Angeles and discovers that Hope and Liam are together again. We're sure she's already learned that Ridge dumped her mother and married her on-again/off-again evil (in her mind) stepmother after a commercial break. How we did not hear her fictional screams across the fictional ocean is beyond us.
That Hope and Steffy truce we witnessed last spring? Well, that's over. We don't even need Steffy back to know that. Hurricane Steffy will likely come blowing on in by November sweeps, so brace yourselves. Oy.
Oh yeah, Luna. She's pregnant. Sigh.

Can we cry uncle already? Seriously, how much more do we need to listen to Luna's deranged rants about the night of love that created this precious baby she is carrying? This magic baby that could turn a pregnancy test positive about 72 soap hours after a sexual encounter. A miracle indeed!
And if we have to listen to one more person whitewash what Luna really did to Will, we are going to scream as loud as Steffy likely did across the ocean when she learned that Brooke had married Ridge (again!). Enough. That deranged girl sexually assaulted a young man, and nobody wants to talk about it on-screen, when plenty of people are talking about it on-screen. The fans know what happened, even if nobody wants to acknowledge it in a script.
Till next week, Scoopers, when Magic Baby's paternity can be revealed via home test performed by Bridget in Bill's living room, the day after the pregnancy test turned positive.
