On The Bold and the Beautiful, Carter Walton has once again struck out in the romance department. Despite their brief run as a power couple in charge of Forrester Creations, he and Hope Logan called it quits on Thursday's new episode. Sadly for the fashion duo, their workplace romance hit a significant snag following Liam Spencer's miraculous "recovery" from a nonexistent brain tumor. The faux illness put Hope and Liam in close contact again, rekindling their flame and extinguishing the one she shared with the man who got her line reinstated.

Although Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor) repeatedly proclaimed that Hope was the one for him, it's a song and dance that viewers have seen many times before. From his early days on Bold pining after Maya Avant (Karla Mosely), Carter has been portrayed as a man desperate to find a woman to spend the rest of his life with. While a vast majority of characters on the show exhibit the same behavior, it has been portrayed as his defining trait. Although things didn't work out with Maya, she was far from the only Forrester-adjacent female pursued by the lawyer.

Cupid's arrow also brought Carter down paths of engagement to both Buckingham sisters, Zoe (Kiara Barnes) and Paris (Diamond White). It seemed as if he was poised to finally tie the knot during his engagement to Zoe, but fate fought against him. Their prospective nuptials crumbled because of a wandering eye on both sides, with the Forrester COO finding himself drawn to Quinn (Rene Sofer), sparking a torrid affair before pivoting back to planning a wedding to Zoe. After Zoe left town, Quinn was his future, and nothing could change that. He was a man in love, until the chemistry he and Quinn shared was too hot to handle. However, Quinn reconciled with her then-husband, Eric Forrester (John McCook), leading him on a fast track to marriage with Paris.

Nothing proved that different in his engagement to Paris because the moment Quinn strolled back into his life (at their wedding), he was all-in on that relationship. He is desperate to find true love and be in a committed marriage, but at the same time, he has no problem squandering it away for a fleeting feeling for someone. It didn't last long with Quinn before she left town for good, and his second chance at a marriage to Paris also went up in smoke. Carter tried finding love again with Katie Logan (Heather Tom), but lingering feelings for her ex, Bill (Don Diamont), put a nail in that relationship as well.

Daphne Is Carter's Last Hope For His Future

After a disastrous one-sided relationship with Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson), Hope Logan's (Annika Noelle) heart was searching for a safe spot to land, and the always-ready-to-marry Carter was ready and willing. After taking over Forrester, stealing it away from Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and Ridge (Thorsten Kaye), the pair got engaged, which came after an exponentially high number of mutually failed relationships. Despite giving the company back, their engagement remained strong (on the outside), but Liam's (Scott Clifton) brief health crisis pulled Hope into a new but familiar direction, drawing her back to Liam. In martyr fashion, he removed the ring from Hope's finger, freeing her to reunite with Liam and make Beth's dreams come true.

Luckily for him, like destiny always does for him, he had another woman in the Carter queue, ready for his love. Daphne Rose (Murielle Hilaire) texted him moments before his break-up with Hope, inviting him to karaoke at Il Giardino. However, once he arrived, saw her singing, it wasn't long until he was swooning over her performance, hinting at another superspeed relationship on the horizon. Daphne could very well be the next name in the long line of women from Carter's love cycle, and if history repeats itself, they will plan a wedding, and heartbreak will follow just as quickly.

Carter's already looking at Daphne like he's ready to ask Ridge to design a dress for the wedding. Although highly unlikely, for his sake, hopefully, Daphne is the final stop on the perilous romance road he's travelled for over a decade. For someone who thrives on romance and the idea of a forever future, he's the unluckiest man on the show. The only way for this to fully work is for Daphne to become a permanent fixture on the canvas. If her time in Los Angeles remains as sporadic as it's been thus far, their relationship, like all of his past ones, is dead on arrival.
