Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) is shocked, yet also excited, when Nick Marone (Jack Wagner) walks into Eric's (John McCook) office. She can't believe he is back in Los Angeles after all these years, and that he couldn't wait to see her. Brooke had been pining over Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) once again, determined to be patient, but now Nick is in front of her — singing to her and kissing her. Ridge, who?

Yes, we know Brooke can never forget Ridge, but maybe she is ready to put a pause on destiny for a while now that she has this distraction before her. Nick has always been a man she can't get off her mind, as evidenced by her man dream three years ago. To Nick, Brooke might even be the one who got away.

What dreams may come this time now that Nick's presence is a reality and not just a figment of Brooke's overactive imagination? Ridge seems to have some competition on his hands...

Taylor (Rebecca Budig) already had a frank discussion with Eric about Ridge and his forever feelings for Brooke, which gave Taylor some food for thought. Maybe this confidence that Ridge loves so much is just a facade after all.

When Taylor and Ridge sit down to discuss the person who always comes between them, will Ridge finally be honest with Taylor and with himself? He has been insisting that he is not about to break Taylor's heart again, especially since it nearly killed her the last time. Does Taylor really want Ridge to stay with her out of obligation?

Maybe it's that time again, meaning it's time for Ridge and Taylor to re-evaluate their relationship. Taylor knows that Ridge only came to her on the rebound after he thought Brooke had betrayed him. She also knows that Brooke has been biding her time, waiting for Ridge to come home.
