The Bold and the Beautiful and love triangles go together like peanut butter and jelly, or for those with food allergies, like a hand and a glove. There's been Brooke/Ridge/Taylor and Hope/Liam/Steffy, just to name two. But is another one on the way?
The thawing of the icy wall that formed between Hope and Thomas has been quite the topic of discussion of late. It's led to quite the will-they-or-won't-they debate online.
Fans seem split about whether or not something might happen between Hope and Thomas -- and then there's even more division about whether or not that would be a good thing.
In a recent Two Scoops commentary, Soap Central columnist Chanel S. Garner hypothesized that Hope might be "titillated by bad-boy drama." Meanwhile, Adam-Michael James commented that, "[y]ou know it's bad when you've already got a hot husband, but it's the thought of someone else that makes you want to rip his clothes off."
For several weeks, Liam has been on-screen worrying that Thomas might have his sights set on some sort of romance with Hope. While there hasn't been any overt indication that Thomas is coveting thy Liam's wife, fans have seen Hope daydreaming about Thomas.
But what does actress Annika Noelle (Hope Logan) think about what's going on? Is Hope secretly in love with Thomas?
"I don't think so. She is in love with Liam and he has always been her be-all and end-all," Noelle told Michael Fairman at the show's recent 9,000th episode celebration. "However, Hope has been so controlled about not wanting to be her mom and so she is so tightly-wound in regards to that."
That fear of becoming her mother played out recently when Hope railed against Brooke's flirting with Ridge. Hope's reaction caught many viewers by surprise, and some wondered what was up with the out-of-character response.
Noelle shared that she saw fans theorizing that Hope might have Dissociative Identify Disorder (DID). As an actress, Noelle said she'd enjoy the challenge of playing that type of storyline.
"I think it would kind of justify the subtle change in her after everything Thomas has done. Finally, that rebel inside of her that she... has repressed for so long... could get put in that other personality. I think that would be a fun thing to play -- the good girl and the bad girl.
