Monday's episode picked back up at Forrester Creations with Katie again thanking Brooke for supporting her decision to venture off on her own. Brooke asked whether her sister expected a different reaction, and she was concerned that it might have been too much for Brooke to digest. Although it was a shock to the system, it didn't change Brooke's pride in Katie's next chapter.

Donna walked in and asked why everyone was hugging, and Brooke revealed that Katie was leaving the company to start a new fashion house. She was sad to see her sister depart Forrester, but she recognised that Katie had so much more to offer than her current employer was allowing her to. Katie vowed to keep in close contact with her siblings, but she was ready to seize the opportunity and follow her dream.

Katie told them, “Well, no matter what, we’re sisters, and that will always come first. It doesn’t matter where we are, or what we’re doing, we’re not going to let this new fashion house come between us.”

In the CEO's office, Ridge noticed that Hope was a bit off kilter after being forced to fire her brother. Ridge commended Deke's talent, but Forrester wasn't the place for him. A lot rode on the success of Hope for the Future, so they needed a proven talent to steer the ship. Thomas entered the office, acknowledged Deke's firing, but promised to take the line to the next level. Hope appeared a bit uneasy at the idea of working so closely with him again.

The line had been out of the public eye for quite some time, and Thomas believed it needed a new vibe for the relaunch. The foundation was in place, but Hope reminded everyone that she and Deke had decided on an urban-chic direction for the new direction. Hope was still furious that she contributed to the decimation of Deke's dream to be a designer at Forrester.

Ridge told Hope that the line was bigger than one person, and he was confident that she, Thomas, and Zende could pull it off. Zende showcased some of the designs they had worked on, and she was taken aback by how much they had done behind the scenes. Thomas couldn't commit to being in Los Angeles full-time, but he’d make appearances as much as he needed. She appreciated their dedication to her line. Still, she didn’t enjoy the fact that her brother had become collateral damage.

After the meeting, Thomas wanted a moment alone with Hope in the design room. He congratulated Hope on her recent wedding to Liam, and he seemed genuinely happy for her. Thomas called Liam a lucky guy, and he addressed the elephant in the room about returning to the line. He promised that everything would be fine between them, and since they had moved on, there wasn’t anything to worry about when it came to working together.

Thomas got the impression that Hope wasn’t buying into what he was saying, so he doubled down on his assertions that he was there merely for work reasons, and whatever happened between them in the past could remain a forgotten memory. He recognized that their history was complicated, and although it was an understatement, he was committed to moving forward. Thomas wanted to recreate the magic of them working together, and he vowed not let her down.

Brooke spoke to Ridge in his office, and she had something important to tell him about Katie. She didn’t waste any time and told him that Bill had purchased a fashion house for his new bride as a wedding present. Ridge looked like he was seething on the inside. Ridge found it somewhat laughable, but Brooke pointed out that Katie would lead the new company. Brooke tried to be supportive of her sister, but it was a difficult journey. She didn’t have the name recognition that Forrester had, and outside of PR, no one in the fashion industry knew her.

Deke popped in to Il Giardino to speak with his father, and Deacon noticed something was wrong. He asked what had been plaguing him, and he explained that Forrester Creations had opted not to renew his contract. Deacon asked what happened, and Deke told him about Thomas returning to Frorester, which led to his ousting. Deacon reminded his son that he had earned his spot at the company, but that didn’t change the fact that he was on the right career path.

Deke vowed to take this as a learning experience, so he could become a better designer. Deacon received a text, so he had to go, but on his way out, he assured Deke that he could work at the restaurant if he needed something to fall back on. Once Deacon was gone, Remy arrived at the restaurant, elated to have an opportunity to speak to his boyfriend, since they were still in a weird place. He apologized for approaching after he had previously asked for space.

Deke understood, and he didn't think he was in the right place to have the conversation they needed to have. Remy pleaded with him to open up, and Deke ultimately admitted that Forrester let him go because he wasn’t the right fit for the moment. Remy couldn’t fathom why they’d let him go from the company after everything he did to get the job. He knew that it was a shot through the heart, but he was certain that Deke would eventually have his moment in the spotlight.

Remy apologized for hurting Deke and the blindside that came when everyone learned who his boyfriedn was. He wanted Deke to believe that he wasn’t the person who targeted Electra. He’d taken great efforts to change as a person, and all he wanted was for Deke to find it within himself to forgive.

Over at Spencer Publications, Liam was stunned to hear that Katie was poised to exit Forrester. He praised Bill for the wedding gift. Liam joked that instead of reporting the news, they'd become the news themselves. Bill thought that with Katie in charge, the new fashion house would be a successful company under the Spencer umbrella. Liam still couldn't believe that Katie was taking such a leap of faith.

Katie stopped by the office later and gave Bill the rundown on how her sisters took the news of her exit from Forrester. She asked how certain Bill was that she’d decide to leave Forrester, and he didn't think she’d follow through. Bill believed that Katie’s loyalty to her sisters would run out over her own ambitions. Katie felt like Brooke wasn’t entirely supportive in the way that it appeared on the surface. There was hidden meaning behind her words, and she picked up on it.

Bill dared Brooke to underestimate what Katie could accomplish. He thought she spent too long at a company that didn’t appreciate the talents she possessed. He had the utmost faith in Katie’s ability to turn this fashion house into a formidable threat in the industry.
