The Bold and the Beautiful Recap, December 31: Katie and Brooke's rift explodes as old wounds reopen

What happened on The Bold and the Beautiful

The fight between Katie and Brooke kicked off again, with Katie accusing her sister of failing to honor her marriage to Bill. She told her that she could’ve had any man in the world, but she took Katie’s. Katie wanted to know why she targeted her sister’s husband.

Brooke downplayed Katie’s feelings, since a lot of time had passed. She apologized, but Katie felt it was relevant, as it was another example of Brooke undermining her. Brooke couldn’t believe that Katie blamed her for everything that went wrong in her life. Katie reminded her that actions have consequences, meaning Brooke should be held accountable.

Katie accused Brooke of disrespecting her, which left Brooke speechless. She claimed to respect Katie more than anyone else in her life. Katie stood up for herself, and she was finished letting Brooke walk all over her. Katie’s new company was an exciting dream, and all she wanted was her sisters' support. Brooke’s inability to champion Katie has soured everything.

Katie felt like Brooke’s support was contingent on bowing down to her. She urged Brooke not to stand in her way. Brooke thought that Katie came out of nowhere to steal her decades of hard work and name recognition. Katie cried as she realized that Brooke was unable to share the spotlight with the sister that she claimed to love.

Brooke claimed that her previous actions with Bill were in the past. However, Katie said that Brooke had a tendenacy ot easily forget her actions. She chose to forgive and forget, and it was the only way to move on wth her life. Now that she had Bill back after years of him chasing her, Katie was determined to show everyone, especially Brooke, that she would succeed.

Katie vowed to prove Brooke wrong, and she asked her to leave her office. She told her that she was no longer welcome at the Logan offices. Brooke sauntered out of the room, looked back at Katie, and claimed that she loved her sister. Katie replied, “Get out,” which implied that this time, all was not forgiven or forgotten.

Bill showed up at Forrester Creations and bragged about securing the Logan trademark. He taunted Ridge about getting the name, and Ridge accused him of stealing it. Bill reminded him and Carter that Katie was a Logan as well and had every right to the name.

Bill asked Ridge to admit that they allowed the rights to the Logan name to lapse. Carter felt as if Bill could’ve steered Katie toward a different name. Bill believed that Katie had the right to use the name, since Brooke had never marketed herself as Logan, and the emphasis had been on her first name. Although Bill felt like Katie and Brooke’s rift could be easily mended, Ridge wasn’t as confident.

Carter accused Bill of cheating the process to get his hands on the Logan trademark. Bill assured Rdige that Carter’s efforts were wasted. Bill thought Brooke could’ve been supportive, which would've avoided the entire debacle. However, Ridge viewed Katie’s name choice as a knife placed directly in his wife’s back.

Ridge thought Katie was in over her head with the new venture. Bill admitted that Katie could become overwhelmed in the early days of her company. He was confident that she’d find a way to handle it. Bill urged Ridge and Brooke not to underestimate Katie’s ability to succeed.

Before Bill left, Ridge reminded him that Brooke and Katie have a lot of bad blood in their past, and that could rear its head again. Bill thought that any residual animosity on Katie’s end could be turned into performance fuel for her fashion house.

At the beach house, Dylan profusely thanked Will and Electra for allowing her to crash in the guest house. They were simply happy to provide her with somewhere safe to spend her nights. Will and Electra insisted on helping Dylan unload her car and settle her things into her temporary residence.

Dylan wanted to repay Will and Electra in some way when she was back on her feet. She thanked them again for their help and left for a relaxing walk on the beach. After she left, Will was pleased that he and Electra could help her friend in this way.

Will was thrilled that Dylan’s extended stay meant more sleepovers with Electra. However, she revealed that she needed to run it by Ivy first, since her aunt was more traditional. Dylan’s story gave Electra the opportunity to reflect on how blessed she was in her own life.

Electra gushed over how sweet and compassionate Will was. It gave her confidence in the future of their relationship. They’d been through a lot throughout the course of their time together, and they deserved this reprieve. Electra presented him with a custom piece of jewelry as a gift, as Dylan watched from outside the house.

Brooke returned to Forrester and filled Ridge in on what occurred during her visit to Katie. She believed that Bill set Katie up for failure by allowing her to name the fashion house Logan. Ridge was tired of Bill stealing from his family, and Brooke couldn't fathom that this was happening.

Bill returned to Spencer and promised Katie she would become a breakout star in the industry. He didn’t want her to expect an overnight success. However, Katie knew the obstacles that lay ahead. She needed to create a creative, innovative design that could take Logan to the next level.

Although Katie originally wanted to do this with Brooke’s support and blessing, she was equally as prepared to do it in spite of her. Katie told Bill, “Brooke and Ridge, and the entire fashion world are going to hear Katie Logan-Spencer roar.”
