Caroline Chandler Baldwin

In 1975, adoption agent Caroline Chandler met and fell in love with widower Lee Baldwin. Lee's adopted son Scotty was delighted when Lee and Caroline married that same year. After a short honeymoon, the newlyweds returned to town to face the disastrous news that Caroline's medical student son, Bobby Chandler, had a fatal case of Melenkoff's Disease. Bobby traveled to New York with his wife Samantha Livingston Chandler for treatment but the fatal diagnosis was wrong. Dr. Steve Hardy told Lee the great news and Lee and Caroline and Scotty moved to New York to tell Bobby. In 1977, Lee returned to Port Charles for an extended visit, but pined for his wife Caroline, who had stayed behind at their home in Florida. Lee hoped to return home, but learned that Caroline and Bobby had been lost at sea. The bodies were never found. Not being able to handle life there without his family, Lee returned to Port Charles after making the funeral arrangements.
