What happened on Days of our Lives

While on the phone, Chad told Leo to run the story about EJ causing the blackout on the front page of The Spectator. Leo warned Chad that EJ would come after him, but Chad wasn't afraid of his brother.
When Jeremy returned home from his first day of teaching, he handed Chad some homework for Thomas and asked how the boy was feeling. Chad told him that Thomas wasn't really sick. Instead, he was still upset after learning that Chad was dating Cat. Chad relayed the whole sordid tale to Jeremy, who had some advice.
"In my experience as a teacher, kids forgive. It's the adults you have to watch out for," Jeremy said. Chad agreed, adding that adults were also ready to judge. "Want my opinion? Julie, Uncle Jack, Aunt Jen? None of the have the right to judge Cat or you. Follow your hearts," Jeremy added.
Jeremy tried to assure Chad that the family would come around. After all, he was the family screw up who turned his life around. Therefore, he was proof that people can change. "Just remember, people can change for the better. Life doesn't give us many chances at happiness. Try not to lose the ones we get," Jeremy said.
Chad understood what Jeremy was saying, but he needed to earn Thomas' trust back before making any decisions. Jeremy asked if there was anything he could do to help with Thomas.
"He's not communicating with me right now, but if he sends any warning signals at school, you wanna give me a head's up?" Chad asked. Jeremy agreed to do so. Chad asked if he could do Jeremy any favors in return.
Alex poured two glasses of wine for him and Stephanie while lasagna cooked in the oven. He surprised Stephanie with the news that her mystery novel was so good that it's headed straight to press with barely any edits. When Alex noticed the flowers in the trash can, Stephanie explained to him that Jeremy had stopped by.
Stephanie assured Alex that Jeremy claimed he had turned his life around. Alex announced that if he turned his life back the other way, he would have to deal with him. After Alex burned their dinner, Alex went to get take out from The Brady Pub
Cat sat on a park bench on the phone with Aaron as he explained that he might be a father. She told him that she'd make sure to run a DNA test to make sure he was the father of Sophia's baby before making another move. When Rafe appeared with Tesoro in the stroller, he was shocked to hear that Cat's brother could be Tesoro's dad.
Rafe soon changed the subject and asked Cat how Chad's talk with the Horton clan had gone. Cat told Rafe that it didn't go well, so Chad broke things off with her. "I just wish I could time-travel to when I met Chad and I could meet him as me," Cat said.
Cat planned to bury herself in work to distract herself, so she started right then and there and showed Rafe the pics she snapped in EJ's clinic. She took a photo of the security keypad to examine so they could try to crack the code.
When Tesoro woke, Rafe asked if Cat wanted to hold him, but she thought she'd wait until she knew for sure if this baby was her nephew. Later, when Rafe stopped into The Brady Pub with Tesoro, Rafe told Roman all about Tesoro's real parents. Roman still hoped that Johnny and Chanel could adopt Tesoro.
Soon, Alex arrived, followed by Jeremy. Roman called out Jeremy's name, so Alex turned around to find Stephanie's ex standing in front of him. Before he left, Alex approached Jeremy and introduced himself as Stephanie's boyfriend. He ordered Jeremy to stay away from him.
Julie was pleased to see Foster at the bookstore. She asked him how he felt, and he told her "like a new man." He also informed Julie that he planned to stay in Salem after all. His son had just taken a new job in Chicago, so Foster decided that there was no reason for him to move.
Julie seemed to worry that Foster would want the bookstore back. Foster thought that was an absurd idea. "I'm retired. I wouldn't take this place back if you begged me," Foster said. He did miss the customers, though, so Julie hired him to work for her.
Julie also planned to renovate the bookstore and make it more hip for the college students who visited. Later, when Cat stopped in and heard that Julie now owned the bookstore, she wondered if she was welcome there anymore.
When Julie returned home, she told Chad that Cat stopped into the store, but Chad did not like Julie's tone of voice. Julie finally admitted she was disappointed in Chad for falling for Cat. An angry Chad insisted he'd broken things off with Cat for the sake of the family, but Julie told him that "the genie is out of the bottle" and he couldn't put it back now.
Leo barged into EJ's office for a comment on the blackout story. EJ just ordered Leo to go away. Leo then read EJ his story, which was not flattering to EJ at all. EJ finally decided to give Leo an on-the-record statement. He announced that the electrician was responsible for the blackout and had been fired.
"University Hospital apologizes for any inconvenience it has caused by trying to open up a free health clinic for Salem's most vulnerable citizens," EJ stated. Leo commented that Stephanie had trained EJ well.
Somehow, the conversation devolved into an argument about Leo having sex with Gwen's husband. Leo pointed out that Dimitri was gay and wasn't attracted to Gwen anyway. When Leo brought up EJ's shooting, asking for "the scoop on who actually shot you," EJ had a startled reaction that fascinated Leo.
Leo wouldn't leave until he got a good front-page story out of EJ, so EJ took Leo's tape recorder and gave Leo a juicy bit of gossip. The next thing we knew, Leo was in Stephanie's apartment. "You're Anastasia Sands, aren't you?" he asked. Stephanie denied it and warned him she would sue if he printed an unsubstantiated rumor.
