Days of our Lives star Cary Christopher has announced that he's left the Peacock drama and his role as Thomas DiMera. The actor first joined the show in 2020 as the son of Chad and Abigail, and he's not gone from the Peacock series yet!
Cary Christopher says goodbye to Days of our Lives

"Yes, it is true," a post on Christopher's Facebook page began. "I left Days of our Lives several months ago because I booked a role as a series regular for a new show coming to Amazon Prime in 2026.
"Days of our Lives was such a dream set to work on," the message continued. "I started on this beloved soap when I was just 4. How lucky am I that I got to call it my home for almost 6 years!? I have been so blessed to always be busy working, but because of that, I couldn’t be in two places at once, and I had to leave the show to work on other projects.
"I will always hold a lot of memories from being on [Days of our Lives], and Billy Flynn [Chad; also, Cane Ashby, The Young and the Restless] and I got to share a nice goodbye. Billy -- you were the best TV dad a kid could have. It was always so great working with you and learning from you. And thank you, DAYS fans!! You all are the best."
The good news is that viewers can still catch Christopher as Thomas in some upcoming episodes. "I can't say where Thomas's story leads, and I don't know! So, you'll have to continue to tune in! I'm next on as Thomas DiMera [Wednesday] Oct. 22nd, and [Friday] Oct. 31st.
Beyond Salem

Christopher was nominated for his role as Thomas on Days of our Lives for a Daytime Emmy in the category of Outstanding Younger Performer in a Drama Series in 2023, the last year before the award category was retired.
What's next for Christopher after DAYS? You can see him in some upcoming projects. "Next up for me, [the movie] Weapons will begin streaming on HBO Max next week if you missed it in theaters!" Christopher's post reveals. "In two weeks, you can catch me guest-starring on Chicago Med. In 2026 / 2027: the live-action series of Spider-Noir will be coming out, I'll also be in Lanterns, and you can watch me as Justin in the family drama It's Not Like That."
