Brad Everett Young, a man who photographed many of your favorite stars from Days of our Lives, General Hospital, and The Young and the Restless, is being honored by the stars he shot. The photographer, who was 46 years old, died on Saturday.

Days of our Lives stars remember Brad Everett Young

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Young died of injuries sustained in a car crash. He had seen a movie and was driving by himself on the 134 Freeway late Sunday night. His car was struck by a vehicle that was traveling in the wrong direction. Young died at the scene. The driver of the other car survived and was hospitalized.

"I can’t believe you’re gone," shared Jen Lilley (ex-Theresa, Days of our Lives; ex-Maxie, GH). "The man who just took this photo is dead. I woke up in shock and disbelief. I was sure it was a rumor. @bradley206 was one of my dearest friends. He always joked that if he ever wrote a ‘Tell All’ book, he’d force me to co-write. He always made me laugh, was the only photographer I ever fully trusted, and was completely natural in front of.

"There are hundreds more photos and videos in my archive, and thousands on your computer and camera I’ll never see," Lilley continued. "But you were so much more than everyone’s fave celebrity photographer. You were my friend. We’d hang for hours and talk about life and the ups and downs of our crazy industry. We’d eat pie and cake and talk about our Virginia roots.

"You loved your mom and brother more than life," the Days of our Lives actress added. "I just have no words for all I’m feeling. And I know it’s going to be a while before I realize you’re gone. I just talked to you. It’s not fair. It’s just not fair. Love your friends and families well. Keep sharing the Truth and Love with them! Life is shorter than we ever expect. #RipBradEverettYoung."

"Tragic," added Eric Martsolf (Brady). "He was always so generous with his time."

When Brad Young met Bradley Cooper

Capturing GH's Lucas (Ryan Carnes) and Brad (Parry Shen) on camera was just one of Young's many achievements. "Brad Everett Young was one of the kindest & generous people I have ever met," Shen shared on X, formerly Twitter. "But the one trait that made him truly stand out in this business, often filled with cynicism, was his indomitable positivity. A huge loss. Rest in peace, friend. ❤️."

GH's Chris McKenna (Jack; ex-Harding, Y&R) shared on X, formerly Twitter, "I’m in complete shock. We just did a shoot a couple [of] weeks ago, and we texted this weekend. Brad was such a talented, funny, warm, caring guy.

"He donated his time, his talent, [and] he raised money for underserved schools, and the world is darker today without his light," McKenna added. "Rest easy, bud

Ian Buchanan, formerly of Days of our Lives, remembers "the king"

"Always brilliant," Ian Buchanan (ex-Duke, GH; ex-Ian, Days of our Lives) praised the late Young, calling him, "A very lovely and talented man."

"Brad. This one hurts," shared Colton Little (Andrew, Days of our Lives). "This man never hesitated to cheer on others in his circle. He was a loyal friend, loved his family, and never said no to a margarita. I spent the morning going through our old conversations and was reminded just how much he valued friendship and always made time for me. He also called me 'Hooker' a lot, which always made me laugh. Love you, Brad, and thank you for everything 🫶💔."

In addition to being a photographer whose work appeared in The Hollywood Reporter, Vanity Fair, Vogue, and Variety, among other publications, Young was also an actor. His credits include the TV shows Boy Meets World, Felicity, Grey’s Anatomy, and Numb3rs. He appeared on the big screen in Love & Basketball, Charlie’s Angels, Jurassic Park III, I Love You, Man, and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.

Young founded Dream Loud Official, an initiative dedicated to restoring and preserving music and art programs in schools nationwide. Young wanted to inspire students, teachers, and artists, and remind communities that "creativity is not a luxury but an essential part of education."

Young was born on July 24, 1979, in Danville, Virginia. He graduated from Chatham High School and Averett University. Young was a photographer, graphic designer, and writer for school newspapers and magazines.

Young is survived by a brother, Chris. Soap Central sends deep condolences to Young's family and friends.
